He is not the greatest athlete, but watch him in the Senior Bowl, if you don't think he can make this team.
He BEAT UP guys that got drafted much higher than him.

I would not be surprised at all to him see him starting at SAM/DPR THIS year.

I would have been very happy to get him in round 3.

Some type of hybrid role?

Solid pick.

I mean there is not much to quibble about with regards to our picks. I wasn't a big fan of the CB in the 4th but he's a freak athlete and they like to take chances on those guys.
Not that high on Anae as a prospect, but if you can potentially add some juice to your pass rush in the 5th thats a good use of a pick

You never hit on all your picks. But from rounds 1 to 5, we got got players in each spot that have a strong chance of hitting in some capacity. And in places that really round out our team

Our best draft since 2016 ?
In hindsight 2016 was great, but we didn't know what we had in Dak at the time. Lots were disappointed in Jaylon Smith pick.

I feel more positivity after this one. No pick anyone has really hated, most picks have been wished upon by Draft Show

I can't believe it. Every single pick outside of Lamb & Diggs could have gone at least one, possibly 2 rounds higher.

And plenty of people had a 3rd round grade on this guy Anae. Sometimes the draft just comes to you. Jerry is also seems to be listening to McCarthy about these picks.

We got a good haul and have to make the best of it. I’m sure next year’s draft will have a dip in terms of the quality of depth at every position.

New Decade has started.

He fell because he has short arms and ran a slow 40.

Who cares? This guy is a helluva football player.

See, I would think a 40 time means jack squat with an impressive 10 yard split.

At best, he could become a Special Teams Rush Specialist..that would equate to a phenomenal value.

I'm enamored with everything so far. Holy ****.

who is his competition?? Joe Jackson?
I mean, it might depend how Nolan looks at him and what he plans to do defensively. If we're gonna implement 3-4 fronts, it's not hard at all to slot the kid into a LB roster spot and easily pencil him onto the roster assuming he shows up looking anything like what we expect.

DE is more crowded, but we have no idea which players Nolan will prefer. If Gregory and Aldon are both reinstated and look good enough to roster them, it gets very crowded. Does Nolan like what he sees in Dorance Armstrong and Joe Jackson and Jalen Jelks? If we keep Crawford as a reliable, unsexy veteran option with versatility... does Nolan see Crawford as more of a DE or as a DT?

I could easily see Anae quickly becoming a new favorite who's got an easy spot waiting for him, depending on how it turns out Nolan looks at our roster and what kinds of schemes he's got planned. But I could also see him being crowded out by the other guys if we talk ourselves into hanging onto some of the holdovers, and if both the trouble problem players get reinstated and take up roster spots.
