What if the Jets were willing to do an Adams for Gallup trade?

Would you be in favor?

I think it could be an interesting deal to look at. I don't think the Cowboys consider it, but I think an offer of Gallup might get the Jets attention.
We have 3 startable receivers on the team. And only 3. its a long season, players get hurt. No need to let any go without a replacement.

My answer is NO. I still think fans value Adams way more than he is worth. He is NOT a FS ballhawk. He’s not strong in coverage. He is a box safety who flies around, makes tackles, and can blitz and cause havoc. That’s great, but he didn’t improve the Jets record so far. He would be an upgrade for us, but I’m not trading a first round pick or a starting player like Gallup for any safety unless he is a back end, ball hawk.

Gallup has two cheap years until he gets paid. Adams has two cheap years until he gets paid. Truth be told, I'm probably taking Adams.

Can we afford the contract that Adam's will want immediately after the trade?

Apparently people value two years of Gallup more than a 1st rounder, because a lot of people were ready to give up a 1st for Adams.

I love Gallup, but if this deal were on the table it's an easy decision for me. Get the All-Pro SS. If we're thinking ahead and looking at second contracts, Gallup won't be cheap either.

In modern football, a WR is more valuable than a box SS, but of course Adams is better at his position.

There is alot to consider here cause Gallup will probably never be as good of WR as Adams is at SS.

What is the infatuation with an in the box safety, whofor the most part has been a bust per his draft selection! They could have gotten the same production from Von Bell for 6m a year!

I'm not even sure they would take Gallup and next years one, although they probably ought to.

For those of you who think Adams is an average player, or a non impact guy, please watch some Jet games when the season gets going.

Thatll change your mind. He would be a serious difference maker on this team.....and trust me I'm not a guy who likes dealing picks for vets at every shot or think this is Madden.

Adams is a very special football player and I hope they figure out how to get him here.

I'll go as far as to say I think we make the SB this year if we acquire Adams. I think his play at that position plus his leadership put this team over the top.

So you want a guy who tackles over a 1,000 + yard deep threat for Dak?

Yikes. Bad takes are contagious this afternoon.

This.

Remember when we played the Jets last year? Watch Adams smoke Dak Prescott on the final 2pt conversion play and force that bad throw to seal the win.

Dude had 6.5 sacks last year... as a safety. That would have ranked second on our team above D-Law. And before you go quoting me and saying "he's just a box safety though" - he had a top 10 coverage grade per PFF to boot. Adams is just an all around stud.

Better at his position? He plays SS. Gallup has deep speed and will face alot of one on one coverage with both Cooper and Lamb on the field. Plus defenses still have to account for Zeke/Pollard. I'll take the guy who's a threat to score every time over an in box SS.

Nonsense. Box safeties don't impact games.

then i would tell them to suck it...we're keeping Gallup.
why the hell would we do that after we just drafted CeeDee Lamb....having potentially 3 great receivers...the whole reason for the post pick euphoria....why kill it before we get started.
Landry Era:
Drew Pearson
Tony Hill
Butch Johnson

McCarthy Era:
Amari Cooper
Michael Gallup
CeeDee Lamb

So he can blitz. But has 2 int's in 46 games. For me, doesn't describe all-around.
