Yeah why not give Dak his short term wishes. Sign him to a freaking 3 year deal if you need to. We can resign him if he thrives under MM and if he doesn't maybe we can develop this kid or someone else. Not trying to derail the thread, just saying stock piling talent and having options isnt neccesarily a bad thing.

The problem with a short-term deal isn't the length, but the payout. When teams have to pay players a lot of money, they like to do it over a lot of years to spread out the hit. Usually, the first year is fairly low, the second year is quite a bit higher but can be restructured and so on.

A short-term deal gives Dallas no flexibility. If Dak wants a shorter term, he has to take less money to make it work out.

Yeah I figured it would be prorated to what a market value 5 year deal is. If Dak thinks he can get a shorter deal and the same money we really should've pushed for Winston or Cam.

Got to admit one of the plays in a tweet in this thread was very Romo-like. I think he's a cross in some ways between Romo and Dak. Like Romo, he scrambles, keeps his eyes downfield and has that quick release. Like Dak, he can take off and gain yards with his feet.

DeNucci already has already found sponsorships and ads running on Cowboyzone:

He actually gives me Romo and Rodgers vibe instead of a Romo and Dak vibe. He kinda has that Rodgers swagger on the field.

Competition brings out the best or worst in people. Lets hope they all get better. I just want to see a better team on the field at the end of the season.

I agree. Competition in football is always good, and for every position. I think McCarthy is signalling that everyone is going to face competition under his helm, which is good.
