It's just a number -- is it worth getting upset about? It's no big deal.

Who knows what was said between Cee Dee and Jerry? Anyone?

Too soon for what? Dez is history here. They gave the number to Antonio Bryant. CeeDee has way more expectations than Antonio Bryant did. If he is good as we all think, he will definitely be worthy of the number. Far more than Antonio Bryant and probably Dez. Dez didn't win us any championships either....
man shut up

Not really a fan of Jerry forcing / talking him into wearing a number he doesn't want to wear.

It was cool that Dez wanted that number and to carry on the tradition, but it should come naturally.

Because it’s too soon and the player doesn’t want the #.

Player not wanting the number has nothing to do with Dez

And Dez hasn't been with the team since 2017 and he signed to play with the Saints

Time is up to move on

Look at the top 20 receivers from last year. ONE, Jarvis Landry wears #80. The other 19 wear from #10 to #19.

I don't have a issue with it but I don't understand the insistence of giving it to him.

Force feeding this number? But no other numbers in 25 years! It’s become a strange fascination. Just weird. In this one scenario the reason is legit. An old team mate named Lamb .. but every time before just dollar signs on jersey sales. Not only will CDL wear it, but many many fans will too. Very cool remembrance in the grand scheme. And the one time it isn’t asked to save the offense!

Dez's opportunity to help win a championship was robbed from him in 2014. Don't act as if it was all his fault that HE did not bring a championship.

And Antonio did bring high expectations just as Dez and now CeeDee. Antonio was just a head case and had an attitude toward authority, and that authority was Parcells. If he threw a jersey and Garrett, he would have just clapped.

Dez was worthy of #88. Not sure how you say he wasn't.

I mean when Dez got it it felt like it was being passed down and sort of giving the torch to Dez. This just makes no sense. Especially since Dez is 31. Let the guy get his own number he clearly wants 10.

Terrible in so many ways.

He doesn’t want to wear it.

It won’t look as good as 10.

It’s still too soon to give someone that number and they disrespect Dez again.

Nothing about this sits right with me.
Incoming brother.

Poison arrows fill the sky around here when you defend Dez.

LOL, can't handle the truth? With that said, I don't think Jed should force him to wear a number he doesn't want to wear either. It's stupid. Let him wear 10 if that's what he wants.
There is no truth to what you said. He has done nothing in this league for you to even have wrote what you wrote

I didn't say he wasn't worthy. I just said CeeDee is JUST AS worthy as Dez was but like others say, if the kid wants to wear a certain number, let him wear it. Jerry's ego got the best of him on this one. It's another thing if CeeDee wanted to wear it. Saying "it's too soon" is re-tarded.

CeeDee is just a worthy as Dez was to get the number.... more worthy IMO. Dez was much less of a college player. Dude can't even run a full route tree. Don't cry too hard for your lover, player-homer...

I agree. Much rather he picked his own number. Like both Bryant’s should have. I get it this time, but moves like these are just completely unnecessary! Why????? Jerry wouldn’t be Jerry!

Yea more nonsense from you

Franchise leader in TD receptions and a first team all-pro. Something that the amazing route runner Amari Cooper hasnt even come close to doing. Pretty amazing considering he “cant even run a full route tree”...

But keep pom-pom waving for everything this franchise does

Lamb has been being compared to D Hopkins by everyone and their brother for a while now. It was natural for him to decide he was going to wear 10 in the weeks leading up to the draft. He knew he couldn’t wear his college number of 2, so he picked 10.

A couple of things here:

1. I seriously doubt that Lamb was married to 10. He had to pick one and he picked the same number as Hopkins because it is a very flattering comparison for Lamb. Hopkins is a beast.

and

2. I also doubt that CeeDee knew much about the number 88 in Dallas when he was asked immediately following his selection by Dallas. He probably had no idea of the legacy of that 88 jersey in Dallas Cowboys lexicon. Being given 88 is also very flattering for him, considering what it means for the Cowboys to issue it to a WR.

So, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Lamb is 100% cool with wearing 88.

Like I said... he had to pick a number other than his 2, so he just picked 10 because of the Hopkins comparisons. Once he understood the significance of 88 in Dallas, I’m sure he’s cool with that.

Besides, it is just a number and he has no history with either 10 or 88.

Much ado about nothing.
