Dak has a strong case for getting paid on his terms. Last season for drop back passes, he was #1, completing a blazing 70.1% of his passes:

He was also accurate with deep throws:

He has more weapons now. 2nd year in Kellen's offense, he improved every year. Pay the man Jerry.

Its also telling that fans have no idea what's being offered or what the contract actually is but the first reaction is to blame Dak and his side.
Unless you're Dak's agent, or maybe a friend, or family member, you don't know what is exactly being offered either.

Neither are the Cowboys hamstrung by the mythical cap hell...the change in 1st Rd top 10 picks in last CBA completely eliminated the "cap hell" card.

Deadlines make deals.... July 15th

Great post @rocyaice !
Yep. I keep telling people cap hell is a myth. It’s all about how you use the cap.

I don’t. And never claimed I did. So until I know for sure I’m not going to to a side based on lies and rumors.

So Aikman had zero flaws (with Dak haters) with career 61.5% completions, 165 td's/141 int's.
Some of it has to do with Aikman coming out of central casting to play the QB position.
Stop using his numbers as the only barometer. It was a different offense. Troy never had more than 23 TD's in a season and that was the year we won the SB in 1992.
Even Dak haters agree he deserves a huge raise. The problem is the FO can't decide what to do. Do they want to make him the highest paid QB in the league? Or play hardball.

Absolutely. Aside from a few deep haters, everyone thinks he should be paid in the 25-36 mil range.

Huh? I think you meant this for someone else. Or, you thought I was pointing that at you, maybe. I was agreeing w/ you. Comp %s are always higher for the WCO due to the extremely high number of high percentage dump passes, which makes an accuracy comparison between two QB's using comp % w/o taking into account the differences in schemes completely useless.
Sorry man, my mistake.

...With that part of the process (draft) behind us though, we now must start to look at the team as a whole in order to prognosticate on how all of the returning and newly signed or drafted pieces will fit together. While there have been quite a few transactions for the Cowboys this offseason, there was one that is a bit more interesting than most others.

The Cowboys brought the enigmatic yet explosive edge rusher, Aldon Smith, into the organization back at the beginning of April. Not having played in the NFL since 2015, Smith is still not eligible to return to the playing field and the commissioner hasn’t announced when he will make a decision as of now.

For starters, you would like to imagine that the Cowboys have done their homework on a player with Smith’s history. Also though, while they are the organization that is typically known for taking chances on players with checkered histories and immense talent, some would have probably seen this as an ill fit for Smith if his goal is to return to as close to form as possible...

And this was reported to be BS......His camp said he never asked for 40 million so who you gonna believe? Forbes.com?
Do you have any links or reports supporting your claim?

Otherwise, yes I’m more inclined to follow a report by Forbes ( which there were other news sources) or a comment from an anonymous fan with no sources?

Yeah he has regressed. Screw the numbers. The guy couldn’t lead a loaded offense to 1 touchdown versus the Eagles last December.
Only someone looking to hate would say that. It pays to be objective and that obviously isn't your strong suit. Dak didn't practice that week, he shouldn't of even been on the field. Let's also not forget the head coach was a dead man walking and the entire team checked out. Keep on spouting nonsense to support your agenda if you must but it's only showing your football knowledge, or lack thereof.

he has regressed. 1-6 against winning playoff teams last year and losses to the bear and jets. His stats are against weaker teams and in futile comebacks. He was not a factor whenever the cowboys played decent teams . Don't forget the regress started in mid 2018 ( remember the tennessee debacle , and the big loss with 0 points against the colts ). , Jerry had to trade picks to give dak Cooper , and improve the team around dak. But he could not do it last year either . This is why Dak's demands are out of whack .
His record against winning teams is amount the best. We've had to overcome Jason Garrett for years man, but go ahead and put everything on Dak that's what haters do .. daks your qb man, you better get use to it.

Those roses are still in the ground and haven't bloomed. It's not like he has to do anything right now and they don't even know the logistics of this season yet.

Why are so many jumping the gun on this? There is plenty of time and his inaction isn't preventing the team from any action of their own.

He's got a new offense waiting for him and 31.5 reasons, plus his endorsements, to show up on schedule. I am certain he will be there, with or without a new longer term deal in place.

I posted a link to Dak's stats to show he has not regressed. In response to the same post.
I figured the Dak detractors would not take time to research it, just spew the normal.

Took me far less than a minute to do so.
They have a right to not like Dak, but to act like he somehow has regressed because the team hasn't done great against winning teams as of late is crazy talk. when Dak started off 2019 like he was shot out of a cannon that haters scattered like cockroaches. It's pretty sad really their arguments are paper thin. Do they not realize that the saints have failed to do better than 8 and 8 many seasons under drew Brees? I want to see Dak with good coaches and a team that plays smart.

And I think there’s even a sizable segment who’d agree with the 33 million a year and or 105 million contract alleged offer which would make Dak top 5 paid QB. Which he turned down.

I’m not sure there’s any Cowboy fans who believe Dak should receive 40 million a year which would make him the highest paid QB which he is apparently asking for.

I agree. Let him ride the Tag for 31.5 million. I applaud our dysfunctional organization for standing firm on this. Seems like we usually cave in on these holdouts.

Who knows. Fat Mikey and the Pizza Boy might make him look like a 40 million dollar man. Ha

Its not about what I think "should" happen. Its about coming to grips with what WILL happen and I've come to that a long time ago.
Are you conceding or accepting Dak should be the highest paid QB in the league?

What exactly are you coming to grips with?

Cause I’d argue the general consensus is Dak should be paid. And top 5 would be acceptable.

Now, demanding the top paid overall is what is being questioned or called out and apparently the stonewall in negotiations.

Are you supporting we should cave in negotiations or simply stating you think we will?

It shows in your unique, upbeat, style of posts.

Thank you! Today I am making a cake in anticipation of Dak signing.
It will taste average. Average time to make. But the ingredients cost a lot of quid, mate!

I'm sure you unintentionally left out Aikman guiding the Cowboys to 3 Super Bowl championships. Also pretty comical you're comparing Dak to Troy.

Blimey! I'd also draw comparisons to brady, Rogers, Brees, Wilson...
Right you are, govnor. Nothing's too good for our average lad.
