I remember seeing Cooper outrun defenders plenty of times. He's not slow by any means. Don't we already have a "speedster" in JonVea Johnson?

Not a big problem if CB is faster since it’s not a race
The receivers knows where he’s going
The CB doesn’t

You don’t think defenders don’t study tapes and know offensive scheme based on personnel?

It’s not a weakness. Our offense just lacks speed. Simple.

We have a RB that’s lost his explosiveness, a QB that’s not explosive unless we’re playing NYG or WSH, and our receivers are average to above average speed.

Pollard has 4.3 speed

The game changed from RBs oriented to Big Physical WR like T.O to Small shifty WR like AB, OBJ, Hill

Gallup is overrated, he is propped by Zeke & Amari.

Matter of fact Tony Pollard should be getting Gallup’s snaps, and he won’t be dropping balls left and right in crucial moments.

Exactly, and a good route runner like Cooper can take advantage of the speed of the CB because if he can make a cut that the CB doesn't see coming the CB's momentum can take him out of the play.

Having expectations of getting a WR with a 4.2 forty time is anything but realistic expectations. Even those who manage that at some point, like at the Indy Combine, aren't able to sustain it very long. Those of us who refuse to be satisfied with the fine WRs we have deserve such frustration and more.

You should get a diploma first.

Ah yes. The guy that makes the New Orlean Saints offense click, none other than Ted Ginn. What would they have done without his 30 catches and 2 TD's last year?

Slow *** Michael Thomas who runs a 4.57, and Alvin Kamara who runs a 4.56 would be nobodies without Ginn.

Log off.

Ugh.

The difference between a guy running a 4.5 40 and a 4.3 40 is 2 or 3 yards over that distance. A CB is just going to back up a wee bit against a 4.3 guy and if they receiver isn't a good route runner, he won't be able to take advantage of it.

Running shoulder to shoulder down the field, a 4.3 guy might get you a little more separation over a 4.5 guy but Dak isn't going to be able to hit that window consistently. Most QB's can't. When they don't, its up to the receiver to adjust and fight for the ball. That's why a 4.5 guy who is a good route runner and knows how to position himself for catches ends up being better than a pure burner who isn't.

And lastly, Dak is responsible for many of those WR drops. That's the biggest problem his haters have with him. If you throw above or behind an NFL receiver 10 times, he is going to drop a few of them.

I just think the 3 top guys on this team at WR are more than capable of taking any defender deep. I'm more interested in their rout running and their hands. They may not run a 4.2 but this team does not lack speed.

I really think the problem is TE and speed out of the backfield. Zeke does not look as fast as he did as a rookie. Pollard doesn't get enough reps. and he is not really that fast (4.52). The problem is that lots of guys on defense are that fast. A guy like Antonio Gibson would have been a great fit in Dallas, but they can't draft everybody. At TE, Witten was slower than tectonic shift. Jarwin improves that but he is not running away from anyone either. Still, he can get downfield in the seems on occastion. I would have been fun to draft Chase Claypool and convert him to a TE.

Jarwin at 4.7 for a TE is considered fast for TE. I think people focus on 40 times though is a bit overrated which is why the combines use other workouts when grading players. It is not like we just run the 40 and that is it. Dallas has enough speed on offense that is one thing I am not concerned with.
