Did we give up on Taco Charlton too early.

Was Rod the problem?

Taco was never going to be great but he could of been a solid blue chip player. He seemed like when he came in he made plays but for some reason they didn't like him. Heck I know this is a bad comparison but it took Beasley his 3rd year before the coaches realized he was a good player. These coaches sometimes play favorites and there is nothing I hate more than that.

Yes, that is a bad comparison. It can take 3 years for wide receivers to find their niche. Beasley was targeted 54 times his second season, so they didn't really take that long. Beasley was very small when entering the NFL as a UDFA. Why expect immediate success? He needed time to bulk up. Plus he was seriously contemplating quitting football prior to his rookie season. The right move was to bring Beasley along slowly and let him develop.

No its better to move on than to keep making a guy try to fit on the roster if he doesn't have “it”.

There is a reason teams were not interested in trading for taco. I was not overly impressed by what he did in the big ten. Its not like he was some definite stud coming into the draft.
We simply drafted the guy too highly compared to his actual skill set.

There are no shortage of talented prospects who come into the league every year. When you can get guys like aj epenesa in the second round who have much higher upside than taco ever did, you dont sweat it when you have to let guys walk.

It seems like we gave Taco the opportunity of a lifetime. I feel for the high-potential players that never got an opportunity like that.

I'm not giving up early on Tacos. Tonight I'm going to try using Bison meat instead of the usual. Use Rogue Dead Guy Ale and throw a little Mad Dog 357 into the mix. I'm going to be on fire and crapping lava before the clock strikes midnight. What? We are talking about tacos, right?

He got off to a great start in Miami, then started getting DNP's.

Taco is a guy I can see getting his career going in his late 20's. He seems to have alot of maturity issues

Rod is completely inept and how he had so much juice within this organization, I'll never know.

He's been riding the coat-tails of Dungy/Gruden/Kiffin for close to 20 years now. The gravy train has about run its course.

Rod is not the coach you want if you have guys like taco and hill who can easily get in the doghouse with hurt feelings.

I think the team added 2-3 edge players after 3pm last Saturday with more talent than Chalton ever had.

Garbage reach pick which should have gotten Marinelli banned from the draft room but apparently didn't.

They got what they deserved for allowing position coaches to have a voice in the draft.

no.
Taco has everything to do with being released by 2 teams.
this is a Taco problem.
he needs to grab hold of it before he is outta the league.

Well said, and it sickened me that Gruden immediately hired him to replace Brentson Buckner who was doing a damn fine job with the Raiders defensive line.

But some dummies thought it was a good idea to give that same guy input in drafting them.
