I think Dak is better than Dalton, and younger of course.
But if you ask me, what would I like, Dak for 40 a year or Dalton for 7.... That could be a good question.
Just being honest.

Saying that, we all know Dalton came here to be a backup, but if Dalton were to have q chance to play because of injury or something to Dak, I don’t think the difference would be that big to be honest.

He actually has had talent early in his career and was more successful than Dak when he did. There are a lot of ignorant trolls on here who didn't know anything about Dalton until this evening. Dalton could come in here and replace Dak and no one would ever talk about Dak again... sending an army of brainless Dak slobberers into a suicidal depression.
I am not a Prescott fan, but it is pretty clear you have a horse in this race.

Are you talking to an imaginary army of Dak Slobberers only?

What about others who actually don't really hang from Prescott's jewels yet don't think he could step right in and replace him?

He has a whole career worth of work, with guys like AJ Green and a healthy Tyler Eifert.

If you think Andy Dalton means anything more than having a veteran back, then you are drunk lol

Or that it has any bearing at all on Dak's negotiations.

Dez drop the gauntlet

:omg:

And herein lies the issue with this.

The Cowboys have committed to paying Dak in excess of $100 million, making him one of the highest-paid QBs at around $33-35 million a year.

But he wants more, or at the very least, a differently structured contract.

The Cowboys have a roster to construct. Dak should be a key part of that - as evident by the massive offer the Cowboys have made.

The team's argument all along is that there are only so many pieces of the pie available. Dak has made the decision that he wants to gamble and fight for a bigger slice. I don't see how the Cowboys are out of line here in the slightest.

How are you defining "more successful"? Dalton is 0-4 in the playoffs, they have the same WL record through their first 4 seasons, Dak put up more yards, has a better completion percentage, Dalton threw 4 more TDs, but also 30 more INTs. Dak's YPA are much higher, as well. Dak was slightly better than Dalton in some aspects, and way better at protecting the ball.

He'll be a great backup to have but Dak never gets hurt. I'm a bit surprised by this move.

Dak is better than Dalton and I know Dalton is just here as a backup.

But that said...

I would have to seriously think about which is better: Dak with the team as is or Dalton + $32 million more to spend on some combo of Clowney, Everson Griffin, Logan Ryan, Jamal Adams, etc.
