people think its easy to find QBs but its not, just look at the QBs drafted in RD 1 this year.both Love and Herbert have high bust potential,no way am i willing to use a high draft pick on such uncertainty when we have a proven and durable QB who is getting better every year.
All the QBs have busy potential. What people fail to realize is that it matters who the QB is as much as it matters who the coach is. I have always said, take Tom Brady and have the Browns draft him, no one today would know who he is.

I really don't think it would matter if he was only making 10 or 20 mill per year. Pappy and Willie (who are both sleeping in the same corral together), would still hate Dak. I can promise you Dalton isn't better. His game has really come down a notch. He is a backup.....leverage...perhaps, but Dak will be the starting qb for this team when/if the season ever gets under way. Some of you act like your the ones paying out the money. I know, "we could by this guy or that guy if we weren't paying Dak so much". Dak is going to get paid and if not he will hold out. We will go 3-12, and pappy/willie will be the happiest campers on this forum.
I actually think thats where Daks salary should be. <>20-21 mill per. Slightly higher than Wentz, Ryan and little south of Rogers.

Wrong.

I disagree. Had Bledsoe not gotten hurt...we might still be talking about Brady but perhaps not as the goat or the pats as a dynasty. And some organizations are so bad even great players can’t shine. put Lamar Jackson in Cleveland now and he’d be a backup.....coaching, system...and sometimes a little luck are very important.
heck we nearly had Steve Walsh over Aikman....

Hahhahahahahaha

So is it stats or W/L record that matters most when judging a QB?

You beta male haters seem to change your priorities whenever it fits your agenda.

It's probably a combo of both. You can't judge a QB on W/L alone or stats alone. I mean in 2017 Dak played like horsecrap and we won the game 6-0 against Philly. Are we supposed to count that as a game well played by Dal?

Okay, let’s look at the full picture.

Dak is 40-24 as a starter with very good career stats.

Only in the eyes of his pathetic haters is that unimpressive, considering Jason Garrett was his coach and he’s usually been saddled with a mediocre defense and special teams.

Hmm, I guess that’s why he’ll be making over $31m in 2020. Because he’s good.

lol. Come on bro. Dak is a clear downgrade? The same Dak who was held back from passing during the 4th quarter of their Week 17 game against the Commanders, even though our Cowboys had a 3 score lead and Garrett and Jerry knew Dak was within 1 yard of tying Romo's single season franchise passing record, 2 passing yards from breaking it, and less than 100 yards from being the 1st Cowboys QB to pass for 5K yards in a season? But, hey, that was part of Jerry's plan to keep Dak from demanding more money for his new contract, eh? You don't think Dak realized that? If we did, I'm pretty sure Dak did as well.

You know the same Dak Prescott who is on pace to shatter most, if not all, of Romo's franchise records if he's allowed to start for another 6 years. He's actually on pace to break them all before those 6 future seasons are up.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:
Another 6 years of Dak

Dalton is gonna shine with this Offense. Thats 1 thing you can not deny
You mean 2019's Andy Dalton?

An old 32 year old "has been" Andy Dalton who threw as many INTs as TDs in 2019, actually got benched for the whole month of November for a nobody rookie backup QB, and who averaged in the 50s in passing completions % and a QB passer rating of 78? Yuck!

Or the once-in-a-lifetime young Andy Dalton who put up playoff game stats for each of his first 4 years in the NFL (2011 - 2014) that were absolutely horrible and evidence of choke jobs where the limelight was too big for him? That was when he was young, never to reach the playoffs ever again since 2015 (he didn't play due to injury).

I don't know what you're getting excited over about Andy Dalton, but I say you'd best hope Dak doesn't hold out or gets injured anytime this upcoming 2020 season, especially if our Cowboys reach the playoffs.

Exactly..

If Dallas actually went out and used that money then Dalton at that price tag is a much better option then Dak at his price tag because they are similar players to begin with and whatever we do lose in ability we can make up for with spending money on Defenders.

2 things wrong with what you said. Yes, we have Dalton for damn cheap THIS year, because he was released way late. But lets say we decided to move on from Dak and decided we need a QB for the 21 season ... you aint getting Dalton to sign a 4 year deal for money less than 25 million per year. Now, it is a significant savings from Dak's demands, but you arent getting Dalton for 7 million after this season.

2nd thing, what you save on Dalton for this year, if Dak doesnt sign his offer, you have no money to get anybody THIS year, and nobody is out there worth getting anyways this late.

1. I wouldn’t want Dalton long term.. Draft a guy.

2. Use Dak’s money on the defense next year. I’d be shocked if we are contending this year unless something special happens on defense.

Said a lot about Andy Dalton when the Jaguars or Broncos didn’t want him for 3 million a year. But our smart fanbase thinks he was signed to start. Genius.

Cant he be signed to backup and possibly start? or is that mutually exclusive?
