What did you all expect Dak to do?

First I would like to say, I am not talking to the straight up “Dak haters” out there. If you hate Dak’s game you don’t really care what contact he signs you just want him gone. I get that. It’s your opinion and you have the right to have it. Whatever

I’m taking to those who appear to have an issue with Dak due to this whole contract dispute. I keep seeing these Dak threads pop up every day (I know, I know here’s another one) basically saying the same thing in different ways. As you all know and have seen, majority of these threads are designed to call Dak an average QB and bashing him for wanting top dollar money when he is no better then Andy Dalton. It’s amazing of variety of ways these statements are being made, I will give you all credit for that. Kudos

But my question is, what did you all expect Dak to do? I mean he is following the same formula all NFL players have followed since free agency has began in the NFL. I am seeing people bashing him for being greedy and not caring about his team or teammates. Were you all expecting him to sign for $25 million/year when his peers are signing for $30 million+? Is that what this is? Besides a certain QB who happens to be married to the richest supermodel in the world, who does that? Is there another starting caliber QB (besides what Brady DID) signing for less then their peers out there?

PS Tannehill and Bridgewater were both backups who took over starting jobs in the middle of the season. They don’t count as established starters.

I'm not in the angry camp, but you're kind of glossing this over.
It sounds like he's being offered in the 33-35 range for 5 years, but will not accept it.
Very, very big difference from what you described.

I dont blame Dak. He is a scrub trying to get paid in what is likely his last big contract in this league

Im “angry” that the front office is even entertaining this and not moving on like they should

yeah, same. especally in an offseason where say...TOM BRADY was available they hitched their wagon to dak and now are acting shocked at his demands.

What Dak’s agent is asking him to do is to sign for less and attempt to reap the benefits in the future. Sorta the NBA Star philosophy nowadays (LeBron did this twice I believe). Concept is the same. He is attempting get the largest contact he possibly can.

I personally am not mad at Dak for his contract demands..

I’ll be upset though if the Cowboys cave in which I’m sure they eventually will.

Dak was fantastic value and now he is awful value.

LOL...…..oh please. You never said anything about Dak being great value EVER!!!

I told you for 4 years that Dak was cheap and you didn't care one bit. Dak sucked and that was it. From his rookie year you have been spewing the nonsense.

How about you show me a QB other than Brees or possibly Brady that is great value that isn't on a rookie deal.

Please rattle off this long laundry list of value QB's out there. (not on a rookie deal)

For me it is simple.. he is an AVERAGE QB that thinks his is better and is asking for alot of money.
He has ALOT TO PROVE YET... and he has not earned or won anything significant to be demanding more money
Your need to capitalize words and phrases is fascinating.

But his peers haven’t either. Golf and Wentz got 30+. Why do you expect Dak to ask for less?

The window was wasted with Jerry's hand picked Tom Landry.

He is good, not yet great...likely won't be, but that part remains to be seen.

The Cowboys already offered him $34+ million a year for five years. He wanted 4 years and a quicker window again.

In the mean time, the NFL has to first survive this entire handicapped season with diminished revenues. The average fan may not even afford keeping a TV operational to watch the team only games...

Now you tell me, what is wrong here!

This front office kept Garrett for a decade and gave Zeke whatever he wanted. I’m sure they will do the same with Dak.
