I know this has been said, but if I were Jerry, I would rescind the tag, and try and sign Cam Newton to a one year deal. Let Cam and Dalton compete for the job...you may get a quality starter, or you may set yourself up for drafting for the future. I don't know that Dak is worth the headache.

I know it happens, that's why I said how often. Most often it would be three different years, and heck if you're trading with someone like Cleveland you might get some nice picks all those years on the other side of the spectrum.

Would you trade Dak for a 1st, a 2nd, and a 4th? Something like that I believe is a little more realistic scenario.

Sounds good but would be dumb as chicken going to the Starving Foxes Ball.

1. Team is too mature to start at QB with a rookie or a red head (remember how that work the last 10 years at Head Coach).
2. McCarthy likes grooming QBs and then playing them...see Aaron Brooks and James Blake, and Aaron Rodgers and Brett Farve.
3. QB is the hardest position to draft correct in the 1st round see the multitude of failures even by legendary QB GM John Elway and Jerry want to trade for the QB he drafted that failed. Lynch mob Baby!
4. When your QB is 26 years old, 4 year pro with 3 pro bowls, 1-2 playoff record, and is the unquestioned leader of the team, you do not trade him. Name me the time it worked or was done.
5. Here is fan reaction after the trade and watching a waste of 1st round picks...
