We missed a lot of opportunities in the ten years Garrett was HC. He should have been fired after 2015 season or at the very least, on the tarmac at Atlanta in 2017 after the horrible coaching job with Chaz Green.

Any GM who was held accountable to win, would have fired Garrett years before Daddy Jones finally did, facing absolute loss of any credibility by keeping Garrett a day longer. It was ridiculous that Jason Garrett was given a decade here,
Chaz Green Fiasco! Worst coaching job EVER!!!

Garrett should have been fired after the game.

These guys are making points that sound awfully familiar. I can’t quite put my finger on it. But if we believe them, just based on the evidence they present here, doesn’t that mean we have to believe so much of what we want so badly to be true in the first place is just total bull****? That doesn’t seem right.

This is very confusing.

Quick, somebody make a post cherry-picking some stat we can use as a counter argument so that we can all bark at each other some more until we get tired and lie down for a nap. Then we can wake up and pretend the reality didn’t actually happen and just go back to what we want to believe in the first place.
What?

Everybody keeps mentioning Garrett as a HC
He will be only the OC
The Giants offense will be better
Their point that Dallas feasted on the weak last year is true though.

Still chuckling at Giants fans thinking that Jason Garrett is going to take them to "the next level."

Why do you think he will see some early success?

Speaking in terms of yardage and scoring only, not wins and losses,
Garrett will experience that "new car smell". It may only last the first
week. I expect the usual results to show up, possibly by week 2 or 3,
but I'll give him to the end of September.

The moment he finds himself in a tight game, we'll see it.
I expect Dallas to absolutely kill the Giants in both games, so
you may see some empty stats in a 42-24 game that was never
in doubt.

If we didn't figure out Garrett in ten years, there is little hope for the human race. We had the #1 offense last year. With a rookie oc calling the plays.

Ignoring everything else, he sucks at game management. But if Judge handles that, then I don't know, we'll see.

Yes, in the final analysis, I feel we missed something with Jason Garrett. He's basically a good person, although, that's not quite enough to make a team a serious championship contender. IMHO, he lacked the strategic skills and intestinal fortitude to make the gutsy decisions needed to win on a consistent basis. His game management suffered as well.

Lack of imaginative and bold play calling got him in trouble as an OC, while timid strategy shortcomings doomed him as a HC. I'm sure it didn't help his cause that Jerry assumed his authority to handle player problems, either. Let's hope McCarthy performs better in his duties. I expect he will.

When you're on the bottom rung, Garrett can easily take you to "the next level." Sadly, they're still going to be a level under the Cowboys (and Eagles). They might outdo the Commanders.

Garrett can build the foundation for a team. He is ok at that. Ask him to outscheme a defense and you'll get crickets.

if it was not for jason's relationship with the Giants ownership ,he would not be hired there. His coaching and schemes are outdated and irrelevant nowadays.

I have been sort of interested about how Garrett is being taken in the Big Apple.

We will play him twice a year for now,

Look at the spin on his expectations..

Do you keep a large poster of him in your bedroom? The image is really giving me the willies.........
