This spot is probably going to be a bit more important than years past. I see us going to a 4WR set often. If so who will that 4th WR be?

The team needs to be on the lookout for an experienced WR in the final roster cuts. And don’t say Dez. I would rather have an open roster spot and play with 10 guys on the field than bring Dez back in.

When you study a WR4 in a 4 wide set for DAL, as of now, I'm going with Devin Smith. Why? Vertical speed to open up the underneath routes.

Cedrick Wilson is my WR4, but it depends on the situation. Wilson can get open on short routes like a possession WR, so it's about the down n distance.

Also, when Big Mike n KM are putting together the offense for the 4WR package it'd be really explosive to have Tony Pollard as the RB...to motion out the backfield, and just stress the defense with his big play threat.

Mike definitely likes to have a guy who stretches the field in those 4WR sets because it unlocks all the route combos you want. Coop and Gallup can get deep, but it isn’t necessarily the element of their game they are primed for.

In that case, Devin Smith seems perfect for the job. We know about his speed, in his limited snaps he showed a good ability to run intermediate routes as well which wouldn’t pidgeonhole him when he’s on the field. Cedrick Wilson can do both as well, he’s just a diet version as he’s a tad slower.

If 4WR sets become more important, then you’ll see a 5WR set every once in a while too. In that case we get both Cedrick and Devin. I would love that lineup of WR’s on the field honestly.

Dak will be 4th WR so he’s not sitting on the bench as much having to watch Dalton throw perfect tight spirals to our 3 headed monster at WR ;)

lol,, you should do your homework first, and history lesson on MM before you try and post again on this subject.

you should probably learn a thing or two about your own team before you start studying other teams. Start w football 101, actually

What did I miss, Wilson, Jones, Smith?
Did you notice the additions of Parker, Rogers, Guidry?

You put your best "athlete" in at wr4, MM knows that, JG could never even imagine the concept.
Its the base of the WCO... you stress out the bottom end of your opponents secondary if you have that ability.
Pollard going to see his time.
Yep....he's a playmaker as well so you put another playmaker out there as opposed to just reaching for a outdated receiver.
