Top 10 isn't average.Yes, we cannot obtain and keep defensive talent with your average QB asking for 15%+ of your salary cap.

It's spelled you're and not your....free grammar lesson of the day for you.
True, unsure if you were for/against Romo getting his first extension, but seeing the above reasons would indicate to me that you would have been against Romo getting an extension when he got his. My 2 cents are that Dak is performing at or near the same Romo did when he got his 1st extension. Romo had only started 17 games when he got his, but he also had 4 years learning while riding the bench. The beauty of it was that there was hope and unknown of what he could become, and of course it was signed during that magical 2007 year. Romo's 2007 contract exceeded that of Marc Bulger's who had signed his extension training camp of that year, which made him one of the highest paid QBs. Romo had accomplished next to nothing, he gave us hope though. We were starving for a competent QB since Aikman. I feel that is Dak's major issue, he replaced a more than decent QB. Had he finally been the answer to a long-time QB drought, perception would be different. But I feel we are lucky we were able to go from Romo to Dak. We accomplished next to nothing with Romo, sad hard fact. Romo could not see the end of his 2nd contract extension, because like Bulger, injuries happened. The good thing is Dak is still young and his build leads to being available for a full season.49ers: absolutely not as Garoppolo did nothing but tease the 49ers with his 5-0 record after being traded from NE and was not worth the money he was paid but having traded for him SF locked themselves into a forced extension
Vikings: Cousins signed a 2-year extension this off season and will count $21M and $31M against the cap the next 2 seasons with an obvious out in 2022 with a cap hit of $45M and dead money of $10M so the Vikings were correct in signing him to an affordable contract
Lions: Stafford signed a 5-year $135M extension in 2017 and hasn't done anything for Detroit in terms of playoff advancement; while I am not a fan of his, the contract tops out at a $33M cap hit of $33M in 2021 with an easy out the year after; that said I would have sought to trade him before the extension and seek a new QB
Eagles: Wentz was given an extension in part because he was drafted #2 overall in the 2016 draft; that said he signed a 4-year $128M extension in 2019 just a year prior to going into his 5th year rookie option
The problem with teams is that they place themselves in a position to where they are desperate at having a franchise QB that they all too often sign QB's to large extensions who do not deserve it in the least.
Well, he's not asking for 40-45 mill per year. More like 35 mill per year which is what the market says he should get.Various news outlets. I don’t care if he is asking for the moon, I just want this to be over with and for it to be fair for both sides. I like Dak and think he can be a very good qb for the Cowboys especially with MM as HC.
And he should get it but the length of the contract is what holding this up.Well, he's not asking for 40-45 mill per year. More like 35 mill per year which is what the market says he should get.
The more unrealistic it is the more it should be ignored. Imagine if we didn’t feed the trolls. It depends on how realistic you criticism is.
You only need a kicker when the big dogs can't get it done.

In your opinion, was our defense up to par in 2019? Would you like to see it improve? It take cap dollars to do that.LOL. Ya the Pats didn't need that Gostkowski or Vinatieri anyways!
Uhm how did Dak's future contract affect our defense in 2019?

The Cowboys haven't sat on their hands with the defense this offseason. McCoy, Poe, Dix, multiple draft picks … they have committed some resources. In your opinion, was our defense up to par in 2019? Would you like to see it improve? It take cap dollars to do that.

3) I believe Dak would get an extension that would look similarly to Cousins' contract, albeit with more years. Cap hit will increase and there will be an out after the 3rd year mark..

By the Book? This place is slowly turning into BTB
Dak’s idiot haters from 2016-18 (when Dak had a 32-16 record):
“DURRRR TEAM RECORD IS NOT A QB STAT!!! DAK’S STATS AREN’T GAUDY ENOUGH!!“
Dak’s idiot haters since 2019:
“DURRRR DAK’S RECORD WAS 8-8, HE SUCKS!!! WHO CARES ABOUT HIS GAUDY STATS!?!?”
I think most of the Dak criticism is mostly based on his passing inconsistencies and prolific passing flaws not his QB game savvy instincts and play making skills which have carried him.
Dak is obviously a pretty good QB and has had some success but he’s not the purest passer in the league.
And until the team has more success there’s going to be criticism until we reach our goals much like we had with Romo.
No. Everything with you is black or white. LolSo you are admitting you were wrong about him? Since you said he was average and wasn't good enough that a #1 type WR would ever come here?
It is from those extremes but not from those more subtle critics.
Dak had his best statistical season last year which didn’t translate to more team success. Not his fault.
But we did offensively struggle in our 8 losses putting up points only averaging 15 points a game in which 3 of those losses didn’t score a TD while in our 8 wins averaged 35 points a game .
This offense and QB did struggle against the better teams overall. Isn’t that a concern for everyone?
No. Everything with you is black or white. Lol
And I have said Dak is an average to above average passer. He has some other QB skills which are greater than passing.
This might be difficult for you to grasp but you can be supportive of someone on some fronts and be a critic on others.
