We are not "lucky" to be able to sign people like this. We have a GM who does not have to worry about his job. He thinks it gives us some sort of advantage because we can do any old crazy thing we want. In reality it is our curse. And the paid happy fans just keep on pumping. It is sad really.

With Jerrah this is all included in his marketing expenses.

If it works, great.

If not, we will just shift to CeeDee Lamb.

It's one of the curses about Jerrah.

You can not remove the PT Barnum in him for spit.

:lmao2:

So are you now on record predicting that Aldon Smith will not be worth the price?
Just want to be clear on this.

--------Could be a great article and I root for Smith but once I see "Mickey" I run the other way.

Ditto....he could be telling me that its raining gold bars outside, but I'd probably just have to miss out on it.

FYI... If it's raining gold bars, you're not going to miss out on it. If you have ever felt the weight of one in your hands you'd know why this is. Your ridiculousness over Mickey knows no bounds. BTW, it was a great article and I'm glad you cheated yourself from reading it.

I think signing guys like Aldon are great moves. Low cost, high reward type stuff. If it doenst work out it, it doesn't matter. He is also taking a risk on Gregory, love that one too. Crawford is here in case one or neither work out. Then we have the young guys. In a year where we couldn't fill that hole, these are some great options in my book.

He'll be 31 in September.

Ok, this gives me hope. Aldon appears to be in great shape and a new attitude. And although he has probably been abusing his body with drugs over the last 4 years he is a freak and appears to be cleaned up. And at least he hasn't had the pounding of the NFL.

This could really work out nicely.

It's very low risk, potentially high reward. There's really nothing not to like about it. So, yes, we're lucky to have an owner willing to take those chances.

They needed help on defense from any and all sources.

They did a very good job of that....along the DL anyway, and probably corner.

They will probably ask Smith to play, what, 12-15 snaps a game in a rotation? He should be pretty effective given his skillset and the shape he is in.

He didnt forget how to play. Maybe he will be a hair slower but him at 80% of his peak I'll take all day.
