Bobby Belt has written a long essay debunking a lot of the claims people make about Dak Prescott to discredit him.

1. Anyone could win with Dak Prescott's supporting cast.
2. Ezekiel Elliott carries Dak Prescott.
3. Dak Prescott disappears in the clutch.
4. Dak Prescott pads his stats in garbage time.
5. Dak Prescott isn't an elite passer.
6. Dak Prescott hasn't won a Super Bowl/isn't the best QB in the league so he can't be the highest paid.
7. Dak Prescott is to blame for his receivers' drops.
8. Dak Prescott doesn't beat good teams/win big games.
9. "My eyes tell me"

Belt provides evidence to counter each of these claims. Great info regardless of how you currently feel about Dak.

This is exactly why I call Dak Haters Deplorables......

once all their arguments are debunked....they start threads about Dak not contacting CeeDee is bad leadership >>>>>>>>>Please bump this below thread it needs 500 replies. So we look back on the misery Dak Haters brought upon our beautiful team..:lmao2:

When I made my original post I was referring to both sides of this debate. Both sides have their extremists.

I like Dak and think he is good. I am not nearly as pro-Dak as Belt is, but his argument is compelling. Dak still needs to work on some things, but you can win with him. And I think the article points that out pretty well.

The extremist arguments on the negative side are mostly bogus. And extremist arguments on the positive side are sometimes over the top. He lands in the middle. That's where Dak is.

I don't understand why people hate him so much.
I appreciate this amendment to your original post. Thank you.

but but but but his leadership! that one was left out of the argument..

this was a very good analysis, not because I have been supportive of signing Dak, but it was done with FACTS.....including the last one, with the eye test. when fans, on a message board claim they know more than superbowl winning Coaches, then you know its nuts

Hey, Jay tell Bobby next time we will keep our EYES closed when Dak is giving it the old 3 and out.....
It doesn't matter if your eyes are closed or open when you evaluate Dak from this position.

Jerry give Dak a crippling team contract so Bobby can feel better!!:banghead:
did you even read the article? it clearly said, some of the other QBs were given largest contracts at the time and they still went to the superbowl…. geez....I guess you have nothing else to stick to and can't even support your opinion....

1. Anyone could win with Dak Prescott's supporting cast. Best offline and HB including top 10 WR in Coop and he still can't score TD...
2. Ezekiel Elliott carries Dak Prescott. They arrived together in 2016 and ya without Zeke no way we go 13-3...
3. Dak Prescott disappears in the clutch. Being 1-7 against good teams and had 0 comeback wins last season. We also fell behind in 85% of our games.
4. Dak Prescott pads his stats in garbage time. Wake up Bobby he does! He is the garbage king and the prevent defense is his best friend as the battle has been lost for our team!
5. Dak Prescott isn't an elite passer. Correct as his flaws are many from accuracy to the pocket presence to footwork....ya he is NOT an elite passer and never was!
6. Dak Prescott hasn't won a Super Bowl/isn't the best QB in the league so he can't be the highest paid. Superbowl LOL for a guy who couldn't score more than 9 points in Philly please Bobby lol
7. Dak Prescott is to blame for his receivers' drops. Not all but most so-called drops are OFF TARGET...accuracy issues as mentioned above!
8. Dak Prescott doesn't beat good teams/win big games. From the Colts shut out to last years debacle he simply cannot score TD against good teams! The red-Zone horror story is the Dak show!
9. "My eyes tell me" Should we keep them shut when Dak is on the field? Sorry, Bobby but we got them and we use them!!!
1- what can you ask a QB to do, since given you are clearly and obviously placing the entire win/loss responsibility on QB. given those resources, he produced the #1 offense in the league..... has the statistics to support his playing ability...and I find it funny, now Cooper is a top 10 WR, but two months ago, people were disqualifying him from being a top 20 WR in this league.....
2- we wouldn't go 13-3, but probably 10-6? like the article said, is Zeke a 12 game difference maker. I also find it funny, last year people were dismissing Zeke and giving him a large contract and even being considered a top 5 RB...but hey, lets change the narrative for the purpose of "my" argument
3- again, you put the entire onus on Dak for wins/losses and fully focused on 2019, but what about 2016? 2017? 2018? and what about coaching blunders, which 99% of people on this board complained about. yeah, once again a very subjective narrow view of things and how they transpired...lets pick a small window to support my subjective argument
4- provide proof. which garbage time? there is plenty of databases, etc. out there for you to go point to it. he clearly showed actual stats from actual games and not your "perception" and "eye test". which games. how many games? which times? what were the scores? if you can't provide any proof, then its total BS, made up craap on your part
5- yet, all the results say otherwise....did he need improvement? yes, he was a 4th round pick. but he has improved every year, and last year despite everything that was going on in dallas, with a first year OC, lame duck coaching staff, all the circus in dallas, still produced #1 offense....
6- do you really want me to pull out the points in critical games scored by Rodgers? Brees? Brady? etc...… this is where you clearly showed your lack of football understanding....so so obvious
7- and you want to tell me that all these other QBs are on target 100% of the time? that brees throws it exactly where it needs to be? as often is said, he needs to put it somewhere that the WR can make a play...those WRs ala cooper get paid to make plays...not for their QB to do everything for them.....once again, you showed your lack of football knowledge and now clearly your subjective agenda
8- yet, 2016, 2017, 2018 proved exactly the opposite...and where is coaching responsibility and culpability in all of these? you were one of the loudest anti-garrett fans on this board, but I guess alziemers is a wonderful thing!
9- you are not qualified by any stretch of imagination. not even close and perhaps, you should just shut your TV and not watch the cowboys games at all, given you are not interested. perhaps over the next 4 or 5 years you should switch to another team. Leeblair did.

2016 13-3
2017 9-7
2018 10-6
2019 8-8

Tell me bud is it getting better with Dak or worse????

P.S. Now take out your excuse book and blame everyone but Dak.....HF

I really do hope that some of the posters here take in great info like the OP above and better educate themselves so that they are more aware of reality.

It leads to better conversations, rather than one side of the argument being significantly smarter than the other like what we have when someone just uses "8-8". That really highlights a lack of understanding of not just football, but common sense in general.
