How do the Rams draw 70k and the Chargers 30k? Is it just because of the Rams prior history in L.A.? It seems extreme.

It's the stadium's.

Chargers played in a tiny soccer stadium and Rams played in 100,000 seat Coliseum.

Imagine having more ppl in the stands but worse home field advantage. Local cowboys fans are the worst fans in sports. Ppl trash philly about their fans being nasty and aggressive at least they have some passion about their team. I picture cowboys fans showing up in polo shirts with khakis and boat shoes, trying to order mai tais from the beer vendors.

lol. This is false. The stadium is great for big games just like Texas Stadium was. The issue with this city is they are laid back for the noon starts. All the bad perception of the local fans at the stadium is from the noon games. The night games are always fun and the big games are great here.

The current problem that has gotten out of control is the scalping. There are different people in there for every game and the types of people that buy these tickets are there for a party or to gawk at things and not the game. Ever since 2014 or so it has been really bad. Prior to that season I would see the same faces every week. I remember people selling their tickets to home games in 14 because they thought the team would suck and then showing up late in the year acting like they were these big fans.

as far as boat shoes and mai tais are concerned i mean you are way off. The best part of this fan base locally are the blue collar mexican americans. They are all in and they are great fans in the stadium. That rich upper class white guy you are describing is probably there in the club level but I never really saw much of that and they are the part of the fanbase that just sits there and says if you want me to cheer win something.

This place will never be Buffalo or Seattle but for big games its excellent.

also the jets hosted The giants, pats, Cowboys and Steelers last year. That helped sell a lot of tickets.

Ive personally never been to a home game. Have friends and clients that have been. My friends that have went say the home fans dont know when to cheer when to be quiet mostly casual fans that dont actually know football. Watching the games from home you can tell how stale it is.

And it has no home field advantage. Every game there are at least 10,000 fans from our opponent that week. Yeah that “Stayjum” is doing exactly what it was built to do- make loads of cash. The best NFL stadiums make money but are also great home field advantages for the home team. Another Jerry gives the fans the finger moment while laughing all the way to the bank.
But yet we are to take this franchise seriously.

And that is why we’re destined to spend the rest of our lives at 8-8

I have always been under the assumption that teams make home field advantage, not fans, this is across all sports.

Example, in Kansas City before Andy Reid there was no home field advantage because the team was average, even though they had the loudest stadium in the NFL. Now with the team being good, it might be the toughest venue in the NFL.

Seattle is loud because of the by product of their stadium. Crowd noise is amplified by the acoustics of the stadium. Jerry built his stadium to make money, not crowd noise.

Pretty much. It's more about the team than the fans.

Example would be the 1999 Cowboys. They were almost unbeatable at home (7-1, and would have been undefeated at home if it weren't for a weird one-point loss to the Jets).......yet that team went 8-8 on the season, hardly a juggernaut.

By contrast, the 2014 Cowboys were a far better team, yet went only 4-4 at home in the regular season.

you cant tell anything watching from home. I went to every game for 17 seasons before not going anymore last year. The home crowd is great for big games. Its the noon games that gave the crowd a bad rap and they deserve it for the noon games. at texas stadium traffic used to get hung up and people would literally get there late because they went to church....Its not like that at the new place but noon games are still really quiet.

Sunday night, monday night, playoff games and 3:15 kickoffs against nfc east or other big opponents are good. I have been to a number of stadiums all over the league and I can tell you the 09 eagles playoff game and the 14 lions playoff game were insanely loud. Texas Stadium never got as loud as this place obviously because of the number difference but the 08 eagles monday night game, all the giants games, the whole 07 season were excellent.

This myth that people who have never been there push is foolish. Also just to add the new giants stadium and eagles stadium are really tame and are not loud at all yet no one talks about it. Brad, Babe and Kristie talk about it all the time when the cowboys are in philly, the new place has the exact type of fans you are accusing Dallas of having and its just another place, nothing like the vet.

the other thing also is when Dallas is in a losing season the place is laid back because this city expects them to be in the playoffs every year. This same thing happens in pittsburgh, kansas city and green bay also. Its just one of those things that people love to put on Dallas for some reason.

also one more thing this idea that the fans here are not football savvy is so far off. This town at times is to wrapped up in the details and they miss the big picture. If you listen to ny or philly sports radio you will hear people who seemingly no idea about the game they just watched and if you listen to sports radio here fans will be breaking down analytics and precise situations in games.

If the stadium were not so expensive it would be a better experience than it is but it is just a scalpers paradise now and I have no idea how they change that but it will still be a great atmosphere for a big game.

Why so many opposing fans at the stadium? Is it because so many tickets available and/or other fans want to make the trip to the stadium?
