Even if the Jets do cave in and trade him, I doubt they would be willing to trade them to us unless we grossly overpaid since they supposedly have beef with us on the whole deal.

Not gonna lie though, would be nice to have him if reasonably possible.

I think the ship for any team over-paying with assets left while back. This is because teams know they will over-pay financially for his next contract and fact that he keeps demanding trade. The Jets still think they have all leverage when in reality I think they are lucky if they get 2nd rounder for him.

Don’t spread this blatant untruth.

You must be repeating what you heard in the echo chamber of the FanZone
  • 55.3% completion rate
  • 75.2 passer rating when targeted
A liability? Those are really good numbers.

do your homework
I DID. Dude is overly aggressive which is why he gets alot of PI calls and gets burned deep. He's an old school box safety. I love the player, as long as the asking price is right. As long as we understand what he is.

he's a great box safety with old school qualities...ie gets the runner down at the line of scrimmage, will thump you. Lays the lumber on wr's...which may not be a great thing actually. and is diverse enough to come off the edge as an extra pass rusher to pressure the QB. A solid disruptor and game changer. WORTHY of a 1st round pick and the some? IMO, no. IMO, Chris Harris would have been the better signing in the offseason and I would be ok going with safety in the draft instead of Diggs. LOVE DIGGS, but I would have loved a safety at that spot. Chris Harris made more sense to me.Adams feels like extortion by the Jets and the player. Lets face it, its not madden...games arent won by signing and trading for high price talent. Teams are built and forged thru blood sweat and tears in the offseason...ie workouts, camp. I just think its over thinking it to over spend at a position where we have some young guys that havent even gotten the chance to prove themselves.

I don't understand where this opposition to trades came from...

Bill Belichick has 6 rings and trades for players.

Jimmy Johnson traded for players.

Bill Walsh traded for players.

Just ridiculous to think trades are not a part of building championship caliber teams.
Belichick has been having to wait until about the 30th pick on average each draft...in each round.

Two games missed in 2019.

Stop with the lies already.
its in the eye of the beholder. Have you seen him be a ball hawk? LIES? Come now..maybe I'm off on the numbers, but I just dont see a game changer. How many safeties are game changers? MAYBE Earl. You ready and willing to pay a guy a ton of money to be a box safety? AND give up a 1st? I think its highway robbery. We shouldnt do that. We could have had a premium player in Chris Harris for much cheaper. Its just bad business.

Truth is not subjective.

If you're against the move, that's fine. I have no issues with that. You're totally welcome to your opinion and I don't begrudge you or anyone else for having a differing point of view. But don't resort to attempting false narratives and saying things that are patently false to justify it.

have a cookie stash. Listen, if hes all that why are the Jets balking at keeping him? Where are the other teams vying for his services? HMMM...Why has no one offered or exceeded what we have to get him? I know the reason. Its what I been saying. He's not what you all think he is. I watched several of his games where he frankly looked lost..others where he looked great. HE IS INCONSISTENT. If he can be all world, then MAYBE. But I dont see how a high priced box safety helps us win more games. He's gonna be a PI and roughing machine..

hurt players dont get alot of flags lol..go look at 2017.
He has only missed 2 games in his career.

He played 30 games over 2018 & 2019 with 2 total penalties in coverage.

He was in season 1 (rookie) in 2017.

He is going into season 4 in 2020.

What does season 1 for a player going into season 4 have to do with anything at this point?

I think the circumstances are widely known. You should look into things further.

It doesn't look like you do. Like the part where you're missing that he's a player under contract to another team. It's ignorant to expect teams to be saying anything about him publicly and being subject to tampering penalties.

I watched several of his games where he frankly looked lost..others where he looked great. HE IS INCONSISTENT. If he can be all world, then MAYBE. But I dont see how a high priced box safety helps us win more games.

That's an opinion, you're entitled to that.

He's gonna be a PI and roughing machine..

No evidence for this false claim.

Just someone who won't let people try to spread outright lies.

You keep doing that - which this thread is littered with from you - I'll keep calling you out on them.

But you go ahead and try to laugh about being called out for lying.

Adams can be a game changer. He is a dominant run defender that sets a physical tone. Outside of the 4.3 guys he can cover anyone in the league. He understands what route combinations to look for which means he can break on balls out of a robber formation, he can play cover 2 or 3. He's a dominant blitzer.

Those skills generate turnovers and negative plays. He allows you to play nickel all the time and still be physically dominant; big nickel would be tremendous. He allows you to roll and disguise coverages and blitzes.

Darren Woodson contributed much the same and he was certainly a game changer. He and Clinton-Dix/Woods would be one of the best S tandems in the league.
