I'm excited to watch him, boss!
I like your stamp of approval.
I like him as a prospect better than BJ that's for sure.

CBs that aren't challenged rarely get interceptions. He was a bust at safety for 3 years because he had no 6th sense or anticipation whatsoever.
They finally played him at corner where all he had to do was mirror a guy and he was good at it. But he still had no 6th sense and couldn't pick the ball off to save his life.
If anything, he was probably over valued overall. He is like Quinn. One dimensional player.
I was ok spending a first on him. The fact we got Lamb and Diggs is insane

He kept the guy he was covering from catching the ball ,
There's more to playing the position than interceptions,
Even the league recognized him as a pro bowler.
He was a great cover guy. But he was about as bad a corner as there ever was at picking the ball off.
He also showed little leadership on defense. Was not an outspoken or emotional leader. Not a big hitter by any stretch.
And no, I am not in agreement that great CB's rarely pick the ball off.
1 pick in 5 years is beyond ridiculous.
In my book he was more on the side of overrated. I think we can say that the Cowboys agreed with that assesment.

That would be the QB
Man he turns around quick. Looks great.
Great CBs rarely get challenged. Thus low interceptions.
Byron Jones was one of the most overrated Cowboy players by fans on this board
Actually he was one of the most underrated Cowboys players by fans on this board.
Really looking forward to see how Diggs and Robinson develop and seeing the secondary become a strength.
Not even close. Completely different players coming out of college. We'll see how he develops under this defensive coaching staff.
Please. He didnt get interceptions because he had no playmaking ability. If he was really that guy, he’s be here. Diggs is going to make us quickly forget about Byron Jones, not that he did anything worth remembering. His standout play was pinning a punt at the 1 yard line.Great CBs rarely get challenged. Thus low interceptions.
He didn't have to be a vocal leader. He did his job.
Pro bowl CBs aren't overrated. The Cowboys came to a financial decision on BJ. Not over his play.
You also have to factor in how he was being coached to not look back at the ball and play the receiver.
I think diggs is Sherman without the attitude. They are eerily similarOff the charts unreal. Could have actually gone several directions and it would have been a home run. Getting Diggs in the 2nd was the key.
Chiasson and Diggs, Diggs and another corner. But getting Lamb seems to be the ultimate scenario.

They literally played Byron Jones at SS more than FS in 2017.
They probably would have done it again if the DB coach didn't get replaced by Kris Richard.
So why didn't BJ have a lot of picks when he was a safety? Was it because he was such a great CB? Certainly wasn't because he was such a great safety.
Awuziey was challenged all year long why didn't he have a lot of picks? No ball awareness.
So great CB's have no picks and the bad ones have tons of picks? I always get a kick out of the things people make up in their heads to try and prove some irrational point.
Cowboys decided he wasn't worth the money. They decided he was "overrated".
The cowboys have specifically made an effort to seek secondary players that "can get after the ball"
Out with guys like BJ who was the poster child of never making plays on the ball.
