I doubt we can offer a second Tag for 2021 and its not really due with the tight CAP, though that is the fundamental issue. It's because Dak can refuse to sign until the last minute which will stop the Cowboys from signing much needed Free Agents.

If we offer the second Tag we are going to need to keep back $37.7m to cover the payment.

The CAP (as per OVER THE CAP), will rise by roughly $17m, this plus a carry over from this year $11m, gives us just $10m to spend.... but if Dak leaves it late we're going to have no one left worth getting (not that $10m's going to get you much).

This is not an issue, and will not prevent them from tagging him again. The Cowboys, as an organizational philosophy over the last few seasons, have not been active in the big ticket sphere of free agency. They play on the fringes. And, the cap isn't going to rise after this year. At best, it will be flat after they reach an agreement with the NFLPA to borrow against future revenues to avoid a cap reduction of between 30M and 50M (depending on whether fans attend games or not, and if there is even a full 2020 season).

Now wait a minute. You are not seriously suggesting that T.O. needed any help alienating people & getting thrown off teams are you?
You go too far sir. You go too far. LOL
No see you obviously don't know the whole story. Go look at patrick crayton's interview about romo and witten having private workouts together. I'm sorry I'm taking the side of a top 5 wr in nfl history over average qbs. Funny thing is the only QB T.O. got along with and loves T.O. is the hall of fame QB.

Blake Bortles would often finish games with good individual stats for the Jaguars. Was/is a good quarterback?

With Prescott's stats from last season you would think the team would have won a few shoot outs. How many did he win? How many games did the Cowboys win when losing by 10 points? Ok that's completely on the coaching, defense and special teams. In every single game including against the Eagles' back ups...
So you have nothing but conjecture, doesn't surprise. Sorry for the use of a big word. Go look it up it should actually be your user name.

Considering they haven't wanted to pay him market in 2 straight offseasons.
He has been paid market just like any other rookie in 2016 - They offered him an extension and he did not take it!

The reported offer was as good as Wentz and Goff who are his peers in class and performance.

Oh, I've heard the stories. Other people can accept teammates being better friends with someone else without going into full blown self\team destruct mode though.
Don't get me wrong, I like T.O. Respect the hell out of the player. Understand (to an extent) and sympathize with his emotional trauma from his childhood. However, his volatile psyche is exactly why I'm not going to use his handling of any situation as a good example or basis to blame anyone else.
That's all I'm pointing out.

They will definitely end in the Fan Zone I assure you.

We have had a long off-season of people spamming thread after thread without changing anyone's mind. We are not going through a season of that in the Fan Zone.

Marry me.

I just think he played with a bunch of insecure men that didn't take well to criticism. He always told the truth and I'm sure they didn't like hearing it. Like I said the qbs that disliked him were Garcia, Mcnabb and Romo. But Steve Young loved him. Go figure.

But he's been better than Wentz and Goff so his offer should be more.

why? he's getting good money on the tag which is what he was after. heck, play on two tags & seek a contract in 2022. that is even better than signing a short term contract now (if you assume his play will set him up for a large contract).
If he pouts, it will be the realization that people don't think he's anything special. Maybe that drives him, maybe he falls apart. who knows.
Why?

Because then it becomes more about than just his performance and production with Daks unwillingness to negotiate. And the fact our franchise is doubtful he’s worth the demands.

Overall it simply doesn’t create a healthy environment and atmosphere for confidence and success.

And if Dak does over achieve he will hold us up for more ransom and probably look to sign elsewhere.

Thats arguable plus while Dak has out performed them at times the team hasn’t had as much success and I’m not sure we could say Dak is more talented than either or a more prolific passer. Stats alone shouldn’t define their worth.

I’m not sure many teams would trade straight up for Goff or Wentz with Dak.

I think JJ makes one more attempt and is likely mad because it won’t make the splash mahomes deal did.

Yep

I’ve said all along Jerry will cave. Now Jerry doesn’t have to worry about making Dak the highest paid and all of the pushback that would come with it.

Mahomes while setting the bar did Jerry a favor.

This is why I was a huge advocate for getting dak signed after 2018. But jerry and stephen decided their family vacations were more important and allowed russell wilson, wentz, and goff to be signed before dak. But supposedly their first offer to dak was somewhere in the $28m-$30m range which is a joke. Remember all these agents talk and know what other player deals are working. Probably could have had him for $32-$33m at the end of 2018 especially with the offseason we had you knew he was going to have better talent on the offensive side of the ball. We just have a terrible GM
