Congrats ESPN, you've managed to come up with a totally worthless stat.

Its been used alot. Its a good stat. Its another tool to judge pass rushers. However its just a small part of how a defense will perform.

We have been good at duressing the pocket for a few years now. However, outside of some strong showings in 2018, it hasn't lead to a strong overall unit

The two defensive ends were winning all the time and the DT's were losing every time. There is your 50%.

IMO defensive tackle has been the biggest failure of this team defensively for the last 10 year. Even more so than safety.

I think the stat is trash. It certainly offers zero bearing on teams being good or bad, as illustrated by where the successful teams are 'ranked. Their numbers indict their own numbers credibility. I have to love the irony.

And I wonder what the people who tried to trash Robert Quinn on his way out the door have to say about this stat now?

Thats your call, but I see the value in it. Win rate and double rate can show who are over rated and under rated pass rushers.

I expect it to have some sort of correlation and clearly this one doesn't. Therefore it's worthless.

This is right up there in the Dak threw for alot of yards stats in an 8-8 season. Meaning less stats. We know the rush win rate was very good but it didn't exactly lead us to wins either. It's a nice stat just like Daks passing yards but ultimately we had other issues that this didn't overcome.

It correlates with a teams ability to rush the passer. A strong pass rusher doesnt guarentee a strong defense. If anything reliance on a pass rush was one of Marinelli's downfall as a Coordinator.

Strong pass rush should correlate into something though, right? Sacks? Turnovers?

It's odd that we are so great at getting after the QB and basically were average or sucked at everything else on defense.
