I dont think philly fans should EVER be allowed at games lol.
But having made my little joke, I think as long as fans are 10 feet apart from all angles, and wear masks, I dont see what the problem is.
With their fans making them keep the masks on would be hard though.
so make it 20 feet apart and no masks, map out the seats sold like that.

How about nobody over 70 or with certain predisposing conditions..........and lets play ball. CV is a mild cold or barely noticeable for 98% of the population. I had it. It sucked for 2 days then I was fine.
Make everyone sign a waiver, wear a mask that actually filters, and let the season play like normal

My wife had a coworker with no predisposing conditions get it and pass away. She was 32. I had a friend, 48 and healthy pass away from it in NYC. Meanwhile a 57 year old comorbid coworker of mine got it and was fine. Welcome to Florida I guess.

Thankfully you were fine, makes me happy to see a fellow forum poster get through that.

My point is this hits people differently no matter what their circumstances. Yes it's a small percentage, I get that. And yes certain people are at higher risk. But there is still a risk.

I want football this fall, I want people in the stands, but it is not as simple as what you are proposing unfortunately. People going to the games go home to people who fall into risk categories, it happens. We see the spike now from holiday gatherings, and there we aren't talking thousands of people like a football game.

Here's to hoping this thing starts to improve soon.

If the NFL can't have fans, is their cash flow better if the season is canceled?

There's a forum here for these medical hot takes. This isn't it.

Maybe in the short term but not in the long term. If the NFL can’t have fans, that’ll lower next year’s cap by $50M to $70M per team. So next year, if things are back to normal (which is a big if but for the sake of argument) they’ll make full revenue with a drastically lower cap.

Because people are going to say that all of those fans are going to get it and pass it on to those with compromised conditions. Therefore you can't do what you want. You know the drill.

Thats tragic. Seems like an outlier outcome which just serves to remind us all that tomorrow is not a given........ whether that be from a car crash, flesh eating bacteria after a swim in the lake, or just a good old fashioned heart attack.

We see spikes b/c they are testing wayyyy more than they were in march and april. What I don't like is being told by people elected to SERVE that I can't go to work or get my hair cut . I don't know who elected the governors and mayors to protect our health and safety at the cost of civil liberties. Sure as heck wasn't me. People need to stop blaming the government which has no control or jurisdiction over a virus. Staying home is always an option for the fearful. The government does not have the right to protect us at the expense of our constitutional rights, jobs, and education. Too many people sacrificed for lives to build this country to let it be torn down by misguided politicians and public fear.

Thats a tragic story but you can't make big global decisions using anecdocal or outlier outcomes. The story is not the 32 year old death on the front page. It should be the millions of 32 year olds who had covid and were just fine. I'm not buying into the media fear porn. And remember the stats are very skewed b/c most testing is done on people not feeling well who show up to a testing center. But we already know that something between 30-50% of covid infection in people with no symptoms. Those people aren't showing up in stats scaring people to death. If you factor even the low end in, the death rate is more along the lines of a bad flu which scares nobody but kills 60k people a year in the US.........even with a vaccine.
