Thoughts on what could happen with Dak

More I ponder this, I look at Tom Brady and how he was the ultimate team guy and signed team friendly deals with NE so they could build a winner. Now compare that to Dak..a great dude on and off the field, but the 1 difference is, his agent and his own agenda. He wants to explore his options after 2020,CLEARLY. Where does that leave Dallas and the fans, his team mates? How do you think his team mates will look at him NOW? My guess is it will be alot of mixed emotions. I think what will happen is Dak may find himself traded while on the tag by this years trade deadline, just out of fear that we lose him and get absolutely nothing after the season. ITS JUST GOOD BUSINESS. I may be very wrong on this. Thoughts? BTW sorry for another Dak thread lol..i FEEL THIS TOPIC OF TRADING HIM IS RELEVANT NOW,MUCH MORE THAN EVER. Its back on the table as far as I'm concerned. I'm guessing Jerrys ego, stephens ego won't put up with much more of this.

Jerry doesnt really cut losses.

He would sooner hope that he could win a Super Bowl with Prescott either this year or next.

He will either be signed long term or gone for nothing after 2021.

Hope is a big part of planning with those two

If we trade him don’t we get to lay the full tag amount against our salary cap this year?

if that’s the case it ain’t happening

It’s business, I don’t think his teammates care much about this as long as their checks clear. If Dak goes out and wins Jerrah will pay him the money he wants. This is not doom or gloom at all. Dak feels he should be paid top dollar. He said an interview he worth 40 million a year. Ok so let’s go out and prove it. We will get the best Dak this season. As a Cowboys fan we cannot ask for more. Plus 31 million is great money for one season.

I've already had a friend who is a NE fan that is already talking about NE signing Dak next season. I hate the drama of the Cowboys sometimes. Jerry looks as this stuff as a positive I believe. Personally I think it's distracting to the team.

Why do you think it is CLEARLY? Dak wanted a certain amount and couldn't reach an agreement with the Cowboys. How does that mean he CLEARLY wants to explore his options after 2020?

Difference being that Brady had Gisele and her income.
But I understand and appreciate your point.

Because it was a decent offer and he passed. MAKES NO SENSE. Unless of course he has his own personal agenda...ie like exploring the market. It looks evident that is the case. But the flip side may be that the team didnt want to commit more funds than they had to because of the uncertainty in the world market with the virus. Heck, we are lookin at the prospects of no season, or no fans in the stands. Do we understand what that means for revenue? Means a MASSIVE loss for the teams. Over 40% or so loss of revenue each week. No concessions, a drop in merch sales, ticket sales...and lets not forget the HUGE losses of revenue in the fantasy football leg of this and GAMBLING. We are talking millions in losses for each team every week. How ya paying everyone top dollar, cap or no cap, when you are hemorrhaging cash each week? I think that is a factor.

Yes, the GM/HC who never paid Brady top dollar is going to pay Dak 40 mill/year? LOL

If Dak signs in NE, he will sign for no more than 30 mill/year and be “happy” at the “respect “ shown to him by NE and be “upset” at the “disrespect “ shown to him by the Cowboys

look at the lack of preseason games alone. DO we understand how much money each club lost because of this? ITS UNREAL,OFF THE CHARTS. Its one thing to have a salary cap...its another to be able to fully fund it and pay everyone, especially when they want top dollar. Its economics 101.

I always here that but c’mon, some people act like Brady would be in the poor house if it weren’t for Gisele. I’m sure the hundreds of millions he’s worth on his own was still more than enough for him to take a team friendly deal.

Brady is all about winning, he’s an absolute competitor, there’s no doubt in my mind that he would have still taken a pay cut (with or without Gisele) if he truly thought that it would give them a legitimate shot at another championship. I don’t think he would enjoy playing football if it meant making more money but going out there and playing with a bunch of scrubs.

They found out yesterday that the money wasn’t changing but they changed the way he was to get it. And boom all the sudden he saw that 50 million up front and would have signed that. So...

Now JJ knows to open the next negotiations with a big number signing bonus. If he is flopping this year then maybe trade him and being in Dalton. At that point Dak will become a backup and his agent cost him 100 million dollars by pulling the deal after game 3.. Daks big pay day will have been 31 million and then back up money unless a team wants him for less money than was offered yesterday.

What I think happens is we get better this year and make a run in the playoffs, how deep I don’t know. So then we go back to the table and Daks agent starts over again wanting the actual 45 million this time. We come back at 38 with a big signing bonus. If we settle for 38-40 then his agents plan worked. If we can’t settle then we tag him again for 37 and see if he signs the tag. Some of the offer and ask may hinge on what watson and jackson does and gets offered this year. If they take team friendly deals it will be great. Maybe they sign for 37-38.

Daks agent can’t make up the money he has lost him. I hope he fires france and gets a agent that’s a little more reasonable.

the agent was a bonehead. Pushed to far,and lost. I bet he and Dak could get them to bite and they were wrong.
