Does Dak really want to be a Dallas Cowboy?

Funny how everyone assumes he wants to be here....What if he is just playing out the string so he can hit free agency? Maybe he doesn't like the pressure of being the QB of America's team. I'm starting to think maybe he just doesn't want to be here after all....and all this posturing is just to save face.

I mean....who would really want to be apart of this circus anyway? We haven't won a Super Bowl in 25 years...so players know as long as Jerry is in control....the chances of him getting it right...are slim.

Comments?

That is not the correct question to ask.

The correct question is "Is Dak willing to take less money to play for the Dallas Cowboys".

So far, the answer is NO.

Why wouldnt he want to be a Cowboy? The offense is bleeding talent that most quarterbacks would dream of having. Plus the lucrative deals / contracts outside of his football contract for just being a Cowboy.

He basically hit the lottery. Now he wants to hit the lottery twice which you can't fault someone for trying

That's a good question. Why doesn't he want to be a Cowboy? All signs point to him not wanting to be one. If that's the case then he can hope and pray that he will get paid more playing for teams like the Dolphins or the Titans. Cowboys also hidden perks like getting paid on endorsements and having an owner that cares for its players.

The Cowboys offered him about 33-35 million with up to 115 million guaranteed. Then balks the he doesn't want to play 1 more year. Seriously, I like Dak as a player. But he's in over his head thinking he is worth more that what he wants. If I was the Boys I'd be looking to trade him and even work out a possibly future for a new QB.

He and his agent apparently think so.

Tag next year is $37.4

This organization has some big decisions to make.

I agree its up to Dak. Just to show that even taking 31 this year and 37 next year is worth risking getting 35 this year and 35 next year with guaranteed long term money.

The signing would have been worth more in my opinion. If Dak bombs this year he really won't be sniffing 38-40 million which is a possibility.

no. if he did, he would have signed. He made his choice I feel, several months back. He wants to test the market after 2020. There won't be another tag offered by Dallas. He and Todd France cooked this plan up a while back I think. Not sure Dak was ever really serious about being here long term. Me thinks the spotlight may be too much for him here in Big D.

For Dak it is just pure greed

If Dak really wanted to be here this deal would have been done - instead Dak is more worried about making the most absolute amount of money he can make.

Did Dak really want to be taken advantage of and disrespected after starting every game for four years, ranking at the top of every category while making practically minimum wage?

If he didn't want to be here he could of held off on signing the tag and told the FO he would only sign if they trade him.

The guys just wants to get paid, on his terms it seems. Or he let France have too much control

The 2015 Dallas Cowboys (you know, the team prior to Dak arriving) had, a top 3 OL, a top 5 rushing attack, and a WR and TE group as good as the 2016 and 2017 Cowboys...and better than the 2018 WR group.

They even had the same coaching staff to boot. How did those starting NFL QBs do again?
Its as if you didn't even read the the OP
NFL Starting QBs? Weeden , Cassell, Moore? Those guys were so NOT True starters.....they are out of the league

Also
They FOR SURE did not have a top 3 RB....which is what I said...not even close. McFadden was way over the hill and out of the league soon after.
Zeke is the by far the best RB Dallas has had since Emmitt and the first since then that defenses stack against. Yes Murray had a great 2014 with that great line and zero box stacking, but hes not Elliott.

I agree on the WR group and already said that. Nowhere near as good as last year or this coming year, but yes, more like Daks first two years (which I already said)

2015 was a cluster but that roster was nothing like this roster
3-1 with an NFL starter Romo (so 12-4 rate); 1-11 without an NFL starter

I think he does.

But i don't think he fully realizes just how great he has had it...on offense.
90% of QBs go their whole careers and not have a
  1. top 5 offensive line AND
  2. a top 3 RB. AND
  3. a good WR group
He's had the first two his whole career and the 3rd recently

He has had it made on offense!

Tell me one starting NFL QB that could not have success with that setup.

I just don't think people fully get this.
Look at the bright side. With all those assets if he flops, we get a higher 1st round draft pick and 31 million more cap space next season. Maybe Daks agent has unflattering nudes of Dak...

Agree with everything.....that's why I'm kind of surprised we didn't go for a guy like Cam Newton. Someone that can carry a team.....has been to a Super Bowl....took less money to prove himself. I have never got why people think Dak is the answer. The bigger the game....the smaller he plays.

And maybe he just didn't think a 5 year deal made sense for him when comparable QBs were doing 4 year extensions.

The answer isn't always the soap opera scenario.
