Things like this convince me an analytic can be derived to support any agenda.

My personal analytic is that the season was over before Santa showed up.

That's no bueno no matter how you size it up.

but, but, so many killed the coaches for not using analytics. can't have it both ways.

You can though. Ideally I think you want a older coach who uses all tools at his disposal.....that wasn't Garrett or Maranelli.

it's been said Belicheck don't use analytics. either you believe in them or not. I also don't believe they didn't use any analytics, it's been said the have an extensive analytics department.

Bellichek doesn't have to use analytics when he has 5 rings.....anyone that's struggling to be more than .500 needs to use any advantage they can get and if analytics is one of them so be it.

so you don't need analytics, it can be done without it, but as I said , They use analytics, Moore talked about it.

I never said you NEEDED it. I'm saying when you aren't having success you should do whatever you can to gain a advantage. If that's analytics so be it. But you don't have the right to not use all your resources you can to win.

Say no more. I didn't peg you for someone who believes the hype machine that is the NFL media. Here's a tip- journalists are dumb and "sports journalists have traditionally been positioned at the bottom end of the journalism hierarchy."

More weight than 'some Garrett fan' on the internet anyway.

Unsurprising. That requires too much specificity.

Unnecessary. The player talent is well established, as opposed to the coaching.

McCarthy? Now he's great? You're all in, I guess.

Compared to Garrett? He's Vince Lombardi AND Tom Landry.

Marinelli's scheme and defensive philosophy isn't unique. But you need a whipping boy and can't seem to hold players accountable. Tell us again about how the game has passed him by.

He and his schemes, and his tells have been figured out. That's why he falls down the coaching ladder before he's 'retired' by the league. Take off the blinders, and go look at what the Rams players said about Marinelli's schemes after they rushed for 273 yards.

Ok. Should be fun seeing how their next stops turn out.

You'll still look to find excuses. Daniel Jones will get the blame next I'm sure.

Not at all. In this thread alone I said Richard was a mistake. Last I checked he was a coach.

How about Marinelli? Or your fired hero? Their absence from rightful criticism hasn't gone unnoticed. Richard is the guy with the Super Bowl ring in coaching. Where's Garrett's?

But the schemes and philosophy have proven track records. These players you're excusing don't.

20 years ago!! Did you hop in Doc's Delorean?

What amazes me is how you have a knack for missing points in an effort to fight with people online. You must be quite lonely.

Here you are acting like Jerry hasn't been going after physically gifted idiots instead of smart players for years because you think trying to insult me is the better move. Lucky for you, I've got some down time today and I'm bored.

Yeah, Pro Bowl players are 'idiots' while 10-year failure, never-was coaches get a pass. It's not 'everybody else', it's YOU.

I wonder, are you capable of disagreeing with someone without invective?

I wonder if you are capable of realizing your own hypocrisy while you try to claim some moral high ground while calling players "idiots" and journalists who say things you clearly can't handle "dumb"?

Nah, that likely didn't occur to you either.

Logic isn't your forte so this reasoning isn't surprising.

Unnecessary. The player talent is well established, as opposed to the coaching.

What have these players established? You think the media doesn't have an interest in propping up the players on their biggest money making franchise?

Compared to Garrett? He's Vince Lombardi AND Tom Landry.

We'll see.

He and his schemes, and his tells have been figured out. That's why he falls down the coaching ladder before he's 'retired' by the league. Take off the blinders, and go look at what the Rams players said about Marinelli's schemes after they rushed for 273 yards.

You actually think other coaches schemes haven't been figured out? That's cute. You should listen to more press conferences from around the league. It might also help you in seeing how dumb these journalists are.

You'll still look to find excuses. Daniel Jones will get the blame next I'm sure.

When they improve their teams I'm sure you'll give them no credit.

How about Marinelli? Or your fired hero? Their absence from rightful criticism hasn't gone unnoticed. Richard is the guy with the Super Bowl ring in coaching. Where's Garrett's?

You mean those guys with jobs? Where's Richard?

20 years ago!! Did you hop in Doc's Delorean?

So you really do think they haven't changed? Guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's not like you've shown yourself to understand the actual game. You're one of those, "they lost so they suck," type fans. Keep it simple.

Yeah, Pro Bowl players are 'idiots' while 10-year failure, never-was coaches get a pass. It's not 'everybody else', it's YOU.

Now the team is nothing but Pro Bowlers. Lol

I wonder if you are capable of realizing your own hypocrisy while you try to claim some moral high ground while calling players "idiots" and journalists who say things you clearly can't handle "dumb"?

Nah, that likely didn't occur to you either.

I saw this coming. Typical psychopathic narcissism from an internet tough guy. You start with the invective and when it comes back to you I'm a hypocrite. Difference is I can disagree with someone without insulting them. But I'm not above playing your silly game, never said I was.

I like how you take offense on behalf of journalists. You're probably a failed one which is why that study I linked in my assertion bothers you so much. Just a reminder you couldn't hack it in a field full of lower than average intelligence.

I'm not the guy backing a decade-long loser, so don't try to lecture anyone on logic here.

What have these players established? You think the media doesn't have an interest in propping up the players on their biggest money making franchise?

But not the head coach? He was openly mocked and ridiculed.

Those players have earned their stripes. The guy gifted the job as a pet project? Not so much.

We'll see.

No, we have seen. McCarthy has a Super Bowl trophy - earned in our building. Garrett has walking papers. There is no "we
'll see", the verdict is already in. If McCarthy never wins another game, he's still better than Garrett will ever be. You keep those blinders on, the rest of us can and do see.

You actually think other coaches schemes haven't been figured out? That's cute. You should listen to more press conferences from around the league. It might also help you in seeing how dumb these journalists are.

273 yards rushing. Willful ignorance on your part.

When they improve their teams I'm sure you'll give them no credit.

Clearly you already are "when they improve their teams", yeah, like they did in Dallas, before they were fired, right?

You mean those guys with jobs? Where's Richard?

Staring at that Super Bowl ring I guess. While the 'guys with jobs' look at their own demotions.

So you really do think they haven't changed? Guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's not like you've shown yourself to understand the actual game. You're one of those, "they lost so they suck," type fans. Keep it simple.

Better than 'keeping it delusional', and trying to willfully ignore the Rams running all over them, or mediocre quarterbacks like Darnold and Trubisky slicing them up for career games and wins. The only eyes you can cover are your own.

Now the team is nothing but Pro Bowlers. Lol

Resorting to a Strawman already? I expected better, especially after the lecture.

I saw this coming. Typical psychopathic narcissism from an internet tough guy. You start with the invective and when it comes back to you I'm a hypocrite. Difference is I can disagree with someone without insulting them. But I'm not above playing your silly game, never said I was.

Project much? Like I said, you claim some high road while throwing out the insults yourself. The definition of a hypocrite. Congratulations.

I like how you take offense on behalf of journalists. You're probably a failed one which is why that study I linked in my assertion bothers you so much. Just a reminder you couldn't hack it in a field full of lower than average intelligence.

Sure, falsely project that onto me as well. Your pattern of behavior is clear. Go cry in front of your Garrett poster. Or better yet follow your hero to the Giants and then blame it all on their players too.

Someone had to take the fall. Remind me which coach sells the most jerseys.

Those players have earned their stripes. The guy gifted the job as a pet project? Not so much.

Lol. How have they earned their stripes? Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it so.

No, we have seen. McCarthy has a Super Bowl trophy - earned in our building. Garrett has walking papers. There is no "we'll see", the verdict is already in. If McCarthy never wins another game, he's still better than Garrett will ever be. You keep those blinders on, the rest of us can and do see.

273 yards rushing. Willful ignorance on your part.

One game with injured starters and Richard calling plays. Confirmation bias on your part.

Clearly you already are "when they improve their teams", yeah, like they did in Dallas, before they were fired, right?

You think the team didn't get better when they came on board? Yeah... I'm wearing blinders.

Staring at that Super Bowl ring I guess. While the 'guys with jobs' look at their own demotions.

Lol. I guess getting fired and not finding work is better to you.

Better than 'keeping it delusional', and trying to willfully ignore the Rams running all over them, or mediocre quarterbacks like Darnold and Trubisky slicing them up for career games and wins. The only eyes you can cover are your own.

Not ignoring anything. Again- Richard was a mistake. He was calling the plays in those games.

Resorting to a Strawman already? I expected better, especially after the lecture.

Hilarious. You said I called "Pro Bowl" players idiots yet have the nerve to say I'm making a strawman. Yep. Logic definitely isn't your strong suit.

Project much? Like I said, you claim some high road while throwing out the insults yourself. The definition of a hypocrite. Congratulations.

What high road have I claimed? Your cognitive dissonance is baffling.

Sure, falsely project that onto me as well. Your pattern of behavior is clear. Go cry in front of your Garrett poster. Or better yet follow your hero to the Giants and then blame it all on their players too.

Lol. Keep it up. How many more sad generalizations do you have in your bag of internet insults?

I have NO idea how it's even a debate that the last staff was any good at all.

They were horrific. Started with Jerry's fantasy of having his hand picked Tom Landry and him being a part of it all first hand.

Meanwhile it was never more than Garrett selling him this fantasy and collecting a decade worth of HC checks.

Yup, Garrett made the Cowboys into a decade of 8-8, and Jerry made him a millionaire for it.

You're the guy calling loser players talented.

Who are these "losers players" you keep referring to? Anyone who couldn't prop up your never-was of a coach?

Someone had to take the fall. Remind me which coach sells the most jerseys.

The man responsible. Let me know when media get kickbacks for jersey sales, conspiracy-theorist.

Lol. How have they earned their stripes? Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it so.

The same way you defending failure coaches doesn't make that so? Are the rules yet again different for the hypocrites?

We'll see.

Have seen. "Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it so."

One game with injured starters and Richard calling plays. Confirmation bias on your part.

Were they "loser players" then? And who exactly was "injured", giving you yet another coaching excuse? Let me guess, journeyman nobody Antwaun Woods made all the difference in Rod's sorry scheme?

You think the team didn't get better when they came on board? Yeah... I'm wearing blinders.

Who and when are your referring to exactly? You like to hide in the vague.

Lol. I guess getting fired and not finding work is better to you.

No, but falling down the coaching ladder isn't what anyone calls 'good' either. "Lol".

Not ignoring anything. Again- Richard was a mistake. He was calling the plays in those games.

Who was the 'coordinator' again? Who's ultimate responsibility was for the defense? And for that matter who was responsible for coaching the entire team? Maybe time for more of your willful ignorance?

Hilarious. You said I called "Pro Bowl" players idiots yet have the nerve to say I'm making a strawman. Yep. Logic definitely isn't your strong suit.

Show me where I said team 'nothing but Pro Bowlers'. Then talk.

It's clear that when you're losing an argument, you're forced to resort to making things up that no one said. Sad.

[quoteWhat high road have I claimed? Your cognitive dissonance is baffling.[/quote]

By playing the victim and claiming that someone else is being a meanie to poor little you, while throwing out terms like "dumb" and "stupid" or maybe your account was hacked?. You hypocrisy is astounding.

Lol. Keep it up. How many more sad generalizations do you have in your bag of internet insults?

Not as many as you have obviously. Use "Lol" more, you don't sound enough like a teenage girl having a fit.

Who said anything about kickbacks? I thought I was the fantasist.

The same way you defending failure coaches doesn't make that so? Are the rules yet again different for the hypocrites?

All I've said is their scheme wasn't the problem. You've been unable to address that.

Were they "loser players" then?

Nah. They were winners despite losing the game.

And who exactly was "injured", giving you yet another coaching excuse? Let me guess, journeyman nobody Antwaun Woods made all the difference in Rod's sorry scheme?

If you think Woods didn't make a difference then that explains a few things. Was he a star? No.

Who and when are your referring to exactly? You like to hide in the vague.

Now I have to keep context for you, too? No thanks. If you're actually interested look at what I responded to and figure it out.

I like how you're adopting the points I made about you now. Not exactly a freethinker, are you?

No, but falling down the coaching ladder isn't what anyone calls 'good' either. "Lol".

It happens in the NFL. Again, their schemes aren't the issues.

Who was the 'coordinator' again? Who's ultimate responsibility was for the defense? And for that matter who was responsible for coaching the entire team? Maybe time for more of your willful ignorance?

I agree. They shouldn't have given Richard so much authority. Not sure how that makes their schemes bad though.

Show me where I said team 'nothing but Pro Bowlers'. Then talk.

I said they go after dumb players, you said I called pro bowlers dumb. Show me where I said the pro bowlers were dumb.

It's clear that when you're losing an argument, you're forced to resort to making things up that no one said. Sad.

Your inability to comprehend isn't my failing.

By playing the victim and claiming that someone else is being a meanie to poor little you, while throwing out terms like "dumb" and "stupid" or maybe your account was hacked?. You hypocrisy is astounding.

No victim here. Just pointed out that you started with the personal attacks and I will respond in kind. I don't take that route unless someone like you starts it. I never claimed to be above it, either. You should look up hypocrisy because it doesn't mean what you think it does.

You take offense on behalf of journalists and players. Those assertions weren't directed at you.

Not as many as you have obviously. Use "Lol" more, you don't sound enough like a teenage girl having a fit.

I can't help it that I'm amused by your pathology. The funny thing is you're the guy who started being emotional on behalf of others, yet you think me laughing at it is, "having a fit," like a teenage girl. Talk about projection.

Keep on shilling for your failed head coach. It's clear you're still butthurt about him finally being shown the door. Maybe you're related?

And then scurry away when called on to answer any specifics. Then again, that's par for the course from a Garrett homer who can't admit the obvious - even after the fact.

I'm not about to play the quote after quote game with you any longer when it's clear that you've got nothing of substance to say in defense of fired coaches who failed at their jobs.

Feel free to come back when you actually have something of value to add.

Players, culture, and Richard. Defense steadily improved each year until Richard showed up.
Lol people are still using that tired argument and scapegoating kris Richard. Sure let's blame the guy who has been with the cowboys for two years over the guy who was with the organization for six years . I just cant believe how many people almost worshipped rod

I cant figure out your argument here, are you upset he was fired or upset that Cowboy fans don't like him....He took an NFL head coaching job, when you don't produce with 2 completely different set of players over a long period of time......NEWS FLASH the owner / GM isn't going to cut all 53 players now is he? Garrett failed you can quantify the failure however you want but he did and during that threw more of his peers under the bus than any other coach i have seen in 40 years, without once taking any blame.....That's the guy your standing up for.

The Tampa 2 cancer we dealt with for years was counter-productive.

We routinely passed on defensive lineman because Rod had a "go along to get along" shtick that involved going along with the idea that we could hand him crap and he'd turn it into chicken salad along the defensive line, while we funneled resources elsewhere. And when we finally spend a 1st rounder on a d-lineman, he picks one who he himself would give up on almost immediately. And follows it up by us picking a d-linemen with our top pick again shortly after that, only for it to again be someone he can't work with.

We neglected the pass-rush talent and the pass-coverage talent while fetishizing the linebacker position, far and away the easiest position to fill in this 4-3 defense.

But, you know, at least we screwed ourselves for the prize of having an old, exposed, irrelevant defensive scheme that really only worked with generational talent anyway.
