I don’t think he Bosa deal is 27. I am pretty sure it is a 5 year extension, but a 6 year deal. The first year replaced the final deal in his rookie contract. It comes out to around 23 per.

Same thing will happen with anybody that signs a contract. For example, if Dak was signed to a 35 million a year contract it would be 2nd highest for a year. That's why it's silly when people say he shouldn't get paid top money because he isn't the best QB.

People can compare as many stats as they want for DLaw. His stats dropped significantly from 2017,2018 to 2019. 2015 was better for all but QB hits.

Last year he was just not in the same league of production as elite pass rushers.

the first year doesn’t replace the final year, just gives him some signing bonus money during that last year. It’s a 27 million dollar a year extension. Yes including the final year of his rookie deal brings the avg down for the duration, but there’s no reason to do that.
