Seems like more talk than video. But worth a look and maybe start a Jarwin discussion. I think this will be the year we see Jarwin take a big leap.

Jarwin didn't play so much and he is really the ONLY legitimate pass catching TE on the roster. So I don't see this as a stretch.

Going by published weight, Jarwin has slowly beefed up to 260 from high 240s when drafted. In college he was more of an hback, lined up all over the field, from FB to inline TE to split out TE. Using that flexibility is how we get the most out of him.

His receiving productivity should be great, because he'll always be the 5th option when on the field after Zeke, Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup. Good hands, very few drops, big target, good leaping ability, he'll be a very high percentage play.

Numbers should take a big jump if you just add half of Witten's snaps to his own last year.

I have no idea what the heck we have at TE with Jarwin, but admittedly, I am intrigued by him getting the majority of snaps to see what he can do.

Jarwin didn't have a breakout year when Witten went into broadcasting and he had a similar year last year. But new year with a lot of new coaches which may lead to new/more opportunities for him.

Towards the end of the season Jarwin was coming along. Then Witten decided to come back and Garrett did what Garrett does.

Jarwin isn’t the answer. TE will be a priority entering the 2021 draft. An elite player at that position could make our offense unstoppable.

If you’re referring to the 2018 season, yeah he looked like he was about to emerge and didn’t show up for the playoffs. It seems like he only has good games against the Giants, most of his TDs have come against them. He’s a serviceable TE but not an elite player. Most of the real good offenses in the NFL have an elite TE. Witten was a consistent chain mover and a good blocker which is why he got more opportunities. Jarwin can make an occasional play down the field but he’s not a good blocker and doesn’t consistently get open.

Those fans who keep saying Jarwin doesn’t get an opportunity must not have been around for the 2018 season when he was battling Swaim and a rookie. He had a great opportunity with Witten in the broadcast booth and didn’t establish himself which is why Witten came back. Witten would have never come back to the Cowboys had Jarwin had a big year and took over the position.

Add a TE like Kelce, Kittle or Ertz to this offense and WOW! That’s the next big piece we need to add to this offense. Seriously, if you add a player like that to what we already have we’re unstoppable!

Jarwin along with Cole Beasley were limited and battling high ankle sprains heading into the 2018 playoffs, .as much as both tried to fight and
gut it out.

Witten was a 5 yard mud stopper whose best chance was sitting in a zone defense, and turning his back and churning his legs to a incoming defender.or taking on a wide busted coverage assignment ...and for you to claim he was a good blocker,is completely laughable with all creditability goint out the window, ..anyone who really saw witten blocking at
this stage of his career,.( instead of just saying it to try to make him appear better than what he was) ..knows he was horrid at it.

- i've said several times how if Dak wanted to call an audible for the TE to hit a deep seam on a certain coverage he quickly recognize, Dak's
best chances were to hope a coverage assignment is blown wide open because witten is Not gonna be able to run under that middle seam
pass. It actually happened in the Saints game when the middle seam was open for attack, but there was no way witten was gonna run that
down, he actually pulled up ...ironically in the same game, Dak hit Jarwin hit on a similar deep middle seam.

- At this point i do agree Jarwin could be more serviceable, but yet he still hasn't had a full season starting job chance
to be the lead role guy, and 2018 was his first short chance at getting the spotlight and show the up field ability that Witt just no longer has.
There is still some developing and rapport Blake has to gajn.

- Prior to 2018, i believe Stephen Jones was talking about the idea of drafting a TE early rounds, but the way the board went and the selection of TEs available already gone that option did not present itself, but after the team re-signed him in this 2020 off season, i think TE
went off the draft plans.

- When we see Jarwin consistently beating the better one on one coverage LBs and safeties the way we see the better receiving TEs do,..
and force teams to have to game plan for him, the way then we could see him surprisingly come into his own such as Niners George Little,
or Raiders Darren Waller did, it may not bet totally our of the question. ,,imo.

I don’t see Jarwin doing anything this season that would prevent the Cowboys from drafting a great TE prospect if one is available. The addition of Lamb is going to limit Jarwin’s opportunities.

The Cowboys have been very fortunate over the years to be blessed with some really good TE’s like Billy Joe Dupree, Doug Cosby, Jay Novacek and the great Jason Witten. Blake Jarwin isn’t one of those players.

and Lamb's addition won't limit that great TE Prospect's opportunities too ?

Not if they’re a great TE prospect. Jarwin hasn’t shown the ability to get open consistently underneath, which is another reason he continued to lose snaps to Witten. He has shown the ability to get down the field and make a play but he’s not a chain mover. He’s not a bad player but he’s limited and isn’t the long-term answer.

if the Cowboys thought that less of Jarwin, then they would not have re-signed him just this recent off season.
Even the new coaching regime had to have seen something to suggest they want to see him full fledged long term.

and Witten got on the field because of the favoritism and bias of the Garrett regime, which now they are good ridden gone now ...and so is Witten.

Jarwin was re-signed because he’s-the best we have at the position right now. He’s certainly not a bad player but he’s not the long term answer. Witten getting on the field due to favoritism is BS! Garrett was in a desperate fight to save his job last season. Witten was still consistently moving the chains and although his skills as a blocker had diminished he was still a better blocker than Jarwin.
