Many of the usuals are already doing well

Ohio State, Clemson are currently 1-2...no big surprise there.

One program continues to surprise though

North Carolina

Mack Brown, Dre Bly et al are tearing it up in recruiting for the Tar Heels

They now have the 3rd ranked class per 247 sports after signing 5 star CB Tony Grimes
Eleven 4 stars already and now the top CB and 7th ranked player overall. Not bad.

Over the weekend OU got commits from 4-star DB Latrell McCutchin and 5-star #1 dual-threat QB Caleb Williams. Went up in team rankings on 247 from #31 to #14.

Oregon is building another strong class and currently ranked #5 nationally. So far they have commitments from 1 5 star and 11 4 stars. There is possibly another 2 4 star WRs that may commit with the Ducks in the coming weeks as well.

Is that official? Pac 12 is meeting soon to vote on 2020 Fall sports.
Yes for Big 10. Vote was 12-2 with only Nebraska and Iowa against.
But like you said, Pac 12 is voting soon.

Would be shocked if they didn't follow suit, as Big 10 and Pac 12 are usually lock-step.

Agreed. I expect all P5 schools to do the same.

I assume the one that'll fight the hardest to not end it is the SEC.

The three highest-rated conferences (in aggregate) academically are the ACC, Big 10 and Pac12. Their presidents will usually be the first to protect the academic rep. Not always, but generally.
It's very predictable.
The SEC is fine, but still are rated as a group lower than the other 4 P5 leagues academically. Add that with how great they are in football and the revenue it brings....well, they might resist the most.
-----------------------------------------------------
In fact, even in the Big 10, the voting was EXACTLY down those academic lines.

Here are the Big 10 school's academic ratings per 2020 US News and how they voted.
Btw, all are fairly well-rated, so it's all relative.....
(Yes mean end season. No means do not)

1) Northwestern--YES
2) Michigan--YES
3) Illinois--YES
4) Wisconsin--YES
5) Purdue--YES
6) Ohio State--YES
7) Rutgers--YES
8) Penn St--YES
9) Maryland--YES
10) Minnesota--YES
11) Mich State--YES
12) Indiana--YES
13) Iowa--NO
14) Nebraska--NO

It sounds like they had a vote but the decision is not yet final.

The option to postpone for a while is on the table.

Voted but all P5 talking about delay vs cancellation.
Guess we'll see.....

PAC 12 postpones until end of year. As of now both ACC and SEC plan to have football. Nebraska says it still wants to play football.

Maybe Nebraska can play some of the teams in the three playing conferences.

Ewers is ridiculously good.
Many say not just the best in class of '22 but the best prospect since class of 2018

Yeah, but you never know with these young kids DFW. I like the kids talents and I do hope he pans out but time will tell. You can't teach what Colt had. This kid has way more natural talent for sure. I hope he has a great career but just never know.
