..wow, Jerry growing big ones in his older age.. ;)... I'm very surprised. Usually, he'll set them up in a nice Cabo facility to recover.

The only one confused here is you.
So, you think Vander Esch had to clear waivers before the Cowboys put him on IR? And same for Romo a few years ago?

ATTENTION NFL TEAMS: Here's our first round draft pick! Here's our starting QB! They are yours for the taking!

Is that really how you think it works?

Here's an example of waiving a player injured from last year.

Then they released him from IR again this year when he could pass a physical.

That was my original thinking and I hope that is the case. I would trade Crawford and a 5th rounder for Geno Atkins if Cincinatti is willing to take him off his books still.
I'd go all the way up to a 3rd rounder for Geno, he's the truth.

Man, this is some good front office foresight and contract work...

sad situation for all both parties lose a bit but yes as business sense they would have owe him 9 guaranteed 6 this year with bonus

so im betting the 3mil, given a bonus, can be spread out over 3 years, that frees up what 5mil this season..

The amount of ignorance when its clearly explained is astonishing. Its clear from the tweet the Cowboys and McCoy agreed to a clause on a specific type of injury. Which in turn, came to be the exact injury that was stipulated. This is not the Cowboys cutting him just to cut him. Clearly this showed up in his physical and thus brought about the release. I wonder why some of you are even fans of this team if all you do it ***** about the team. Anything and everything. Even situations thats explained but you either have no reading comprehension or just flat out dont even read whats being reported.

I don’t ever wanna hear you guys moan and cry about players holding out, and this is why. When you’re not useful anymore you’re cut, so I completely understand every player who holds out and demands as much money as they can get. Cutthroat business
Do you know all the ins and outs of player personnel moves? No? Still no?
Then relax until the details come out.

McCoy was to count 4.3mil on the cap, if all thats owed is the 3mil bonus which is prorated over 5yrs im taking the Cowboys gain 3.7mil in cap space?
in that range im sure, it was a good business move, bring him back even cheaper next season if he wants back..now we can use it on another player, maybe his replacement if Gallimore and Hill unimpressive the next month,,

McCoy got $3 million for barely one training session.

I hope he recovers fully as with any player but he's hardly been given a rough ride with $3 million signing bonus!

He had previously injured the quad muscle. That's why we got him cheap and why Stephen wisely included the waiver. Just another example of stephen's sharp deal making abilities.
