Something I was mocked and ridiculed for mentioning last training camp. As usual I am right. Music has no place during practice.

No music in practice
Dallas Cowboys practices under Jason Garrett often featured music of a great variety, especially during compete periods. Mike McCarthy was asked about how rarely music is playing during his practices.

“I think there’s a place for music. I think even more so than any year that I’ve coached in this league this is probably a year for not very much music. Right now looks like we’re going to be playing our first game with no fans. I think that what I’ve always done is you try to keep your training environment as close to the game situation as possible. The influx of music for me in the practices that I’ve had in the past, there’s a purpose for it. So when the offense is playing on the road, we’ll have music during their periods for communication challenge and things like that. We play music during the tv timeouts, there’s what, two or three of those a practice. I think music’s great, but I think it needs to be at the appropriate time."

This could be chalked up to being standard coach speak, but it does seem as if McCarthy has meticulously thought about every detail going into life with this team.

I hate these “I told you so” threads. They never mention the “I told you so“ threads that were wrong.

Give examples.
And rarely wrong doesn't mean never wrong. I've admitted when I was wrong in the past.
Here is an example. You claimed in the OP that music has no place in practice and you are apparently using McCarthy’s use of music as proof you are right. His first statement says “I think there is a place for music” and he goes on to explain he would use music to make communication difficult on the offense when playing on the road. He’s not using music right now because they aren’t going to be playIng the first game in front of fans.

Would you sing a different tune if they were playing Mayhem or Behemoth in practice? I bet that would get some bewildered looks lol

Right now, Lombardi and Landry are rolling over in their graves.

It. Doesn’t. Matter.

I've been watching the giants daily practice videos on their site and they have music blasting away. Heard a bunch of public enemy and I think EPMD yesterday. Thats pretty awesome.

no fans is that what he thinks, there might be more then he thinks, secondly even without fans the PA and media guys will be pumping in noise and music during games.. i get why you might nowt want it at practice but the excuse is lame, these game wont be quiet because no fans are there..

most likely a lot more music then normal will be playing at games..are they at least pumping crowd noise in on offense?
