Twitter: Ref Tony Corrente on the OPI on Michael Gallup

What did he say about not calling hands to the face of Goff or roughing the passer that directly resulted in an INT for us and led to points? Did they bring up the non call holding against Donald about 3 plays after that?

That's why I didn't get that upset.

Yeah, it was a close call with Gallup, but the missed call on Goff was a clear penalty and we caught a huge break there.

you would think after the Saints game they would never give the Rams the benefit of the doubt leading to a pretty low tv rating Super Bowl. Football is just never going to happen stop trying to make it happen.

So Corrente is trying to say that any time a WR extends his arm, he's gonna call OPI? Okay, bet.

You know they won't call it like that the rest of the year. But they did. In this situation. Against Dallas.

A call like that within 2 minutes should be under review. OH well... Sadly, because I was bartending thats about the only bit of the game I got to see. :(

Poorly called game. But that call on Gallup is not why the Cowboys lost.
I agree. The turnover on downs in the redzone and them manhandling us at the LOS on both sides of the ball was why we lost. The OPI was just salt on the wound. We're not going to win a lot of games if we can't block, tackle or understand situational football.

There was a play early in the game that Dak was clearly hit in the head
No call.

Sucks that it was missed.

But the Aldon Smith penalty seemed to affect Goff's throw and if not for the hit to the head an interception would not have occured

They were both locked in arms with each other , should be no call on either one and let the play stand as is. Basically "Lets the boy play ref!"

the missed call for love tap on Goff only made up for missing Donald bash Dak in the head 2x without a call and the timeout aftee the play clock expired which gave them 4 points

I knew it was OPI as soon as I saw it. In the replay, he was also being arm-barred, but it was harder to notice that live. Still, once Gallup extended the arm, it’s tough to say that’s not a penalty. That’s gets called every time.

I'd have more respect for him if he just flipped us off. He gets his 5 of fame and no consequences.
