The biggest mistake that game was made by Lamb not being at the marker for his route which is the entire point of the route on the 4th down play, but he is a rookie so mistakes are expected.

After that there were some protection issues, which is not unexpected when your offensive line is wounded and you are going up against AD, but unfortunately needs to be resolved becuase the entire offensive system requires that the QB be given time to throw.

The lack of a TE is a BIG problem, but not one that can easily be resolved.

Guess again -- many of the young players are still learning the ropes and must have more time to get acclimated to the system they're in. MM might know all he needs to but there's a learning curve that exists with himself and the players, whether he prefers to admit it or not. I seriously doubt Kellen Moore is completely settled in yet, himself. Dak certainly had his problems getting the time necessary for his comfort in the pocket, as well.

which young players outside of steele and lamb were learning this offensive system?

how can losing your starting tight end in week 1 be easily resolved?

Average...
Yeah, I won't say he played bad, he just did not do anything special to make plays really. Absent the great pass to Gallop, you are not going to march down the field at the end throwing 4 yard passes. He needs to get out of the pocket a bit more to extend plays. If he had donw that we may have converted a couple more third downs and put a few more points on the board.

he had a nice drive at the end of the half though.

No, the biggest mistake was going for it at all, followed by the 3rd down choice!

You mean the TE that had 1 reception before he got hurt.

Jarwin is the Troy Hambrick of TE's

cool. He should be easily replaced then and his injury should never be brought up as a crutch for the quarterback.

Honestly, they just need a TE who does what Witten did. A safety valve for Dak when in trouble. With the three WR's we have it is not that important to have a huge receiving threat there.

I don't think Dak did bad considering the team folded in on him. Just that he didn't carry hard like a 40 mill QB he claims to be. But throwing into the feet of a receiver right in front of you, is hard to justify a 40 mill price tag.
Saw R Wilson miss a wide open WR in the end zone. It happens.

I’ve seen people degrade Zeke and Dak this past game and I’m trying to find a reason why

I thought they played very well

the defense got pushed around and I thought some calls were questionable.

This is a fair breakdown.

Dak wasn’t bad last night.

he just wasn’t good enough. He has to play better than that. He is capable. We have all seen it.

but he needs to play better than that.

He made a couple of throws that I openly said, you can't do that if your expecting $40M a year.

The OL struggled most of the game.
The defense looked confused and tentative, unsure, even in press AP lining up.
Without Byron Jones, we have no one who can cover a TE....Rams could have run their TEs over middle all game. The DBs we used looked like midgets beside Higgins and Kupp.

LBs were garbage. The switch of Smith and LVE didn’t seem to play to either guy’s strengths to me. Before injury, LVE was not credited with a single tackle?

If its the same scheme...isnt' that Garrett's scheme? That's a issue in itself.......

no it revealed the issue.

The Jones family would dictate to McCarthy that Moore is staying and calling plays because Dak wants him to.

When you can realize the harm that does to an organization then get back to me.

You said the same scheme is Garretts correct? That scheme has been sucked and known to be predictable and not really be imaginative.....and you're saying that isn't a issue?

And I don't want to hear that crap about blaming the Jones's for Moore being here. When I said this offseason that it was a Jerry move everyone said it was on McCarthy and McCarthy is the new king around here. So let's keep the same energy after week 1.

I mean.....your starting slot receiver and starting right tackle...pretty crucial parts of your team.........

LOL

Matt Rhule scored a whole bunch of points on Oakland yesterday with a whole new staff and a bunch of players no one wanted after kicking out their mvp quarterback and long time fantastic Tight End.

But Dallas can't adjust to a new slot wr and right tackle.

Give me a break with this stuff. The problem is right there in front of everyone and everyone here asks it to move out of the way so they can point fingers at some other peripheral element.
