We are going to need Gregory to come in and save this pass rush. No one else is going to get it done.

The thing is as on a cowboys post game show, Cowboys OT, aired locally on channel 21. They said, as well I think others said it to.
It will take DLaw a while to adjust. He goes form putting his hand on the ground, and used to bending that way. To now asking him to play a lot standing up, and he is not used to that, nor maybe his body is not that type to rush from. That is a big change for most players to accomplish right away. Without off season and PS games to work on it.

Sound a little like an excuse. But just saying what has been said.

I hope DLaw is ok, as who will take his place. Maybe this entire defense still needs a few more games.

jazz--- they should let him from time to time creep up to line and put his hand in the dirt

DLaw is a perfect case study in people who watch games, and know what they're watching, and people who read box scores.

I am confused as to how they are using him too. Like I pointed out in another thread, there were a couple of times he's running 20 yards down field in coverage. Yeah, I get the concept of zone blitzes but trying to have Lawrence cover a WR, like he was at the end of the half, seems pretty dumb to me.

That being said, he's paid as an elite DE, he needs to be more active at pressuring the QB. I am not one of these guys that thinks he stinks and he's still playing the run pretty well, but at that price tag, he has to be more active in the pass rush department and he's just not doing it at this point. There were times yesterday, he was simply loafing on plays (granted one obvious one was the play right after Nolan had him chasing a WR down field in coverage).

Last night on SNF someone said they asked Haley about going from a 3 point stance to a 2 point stance and he said that it's much harder than most think and not all players are able to make the switch.

I'm not a coach but I wonder why a coach would try to make that kind of change on a player that was pretty good playing the other way. After a couple games and not seeing what he thought would happen with his changes that maybe it's time to let all four of the defensive linemen go back to their 3 point stance and have them play the way they played well before.

gjk----i totally agree...let him creep up to the line and put his hand in the dirt...we need pressure

Dlaw must have clipped his knee on the Gatorade cooler. He wasn't doing much on the field to get hurt.
^this. He was invisible yesterday. Did he even play? I am ready to bench him anyway. Next man up I say. Maybe we will get better results with a DE that is actually hungry. He has fat cat syndrome. VERY SATISFIED WITH MEDIOCRITY.

I'm good with Aldon Smith on the left side and Griffen/Gregory when he gets back on the right side.

Jaylon coming up the middle to put pressure with safety or secondary playing over the middle which for some reason yesterday we did not include when blitzing up the middle.

Definitely is. I’m sure he’s a good guy and everything but that contract vs production ratio makes it difficult to tolerate. We might be better off having someone who’s hungry out there
HE GOT HIS JERRY BUCKS and then got lazy. He lost his edge and hunger. This has been brewing since 2019. He held the team hostage selfishly during his contract deal...and I wont dive back into that, but he showed who he was then, and still is now. He's done. He got paid and he is just satisfied with being ok.He is very immature and has no business being a captain or starting. At this point I RATHER see Griffen in his spot or even some Anae. That kid will ball.

and dont forget about Anae. He has all the tools and just needs game reps. I think if Dlaw cant go this week we may see him on the field and have some impact.

Sunday was just brutal for injuries across the league.
this is why we need preseason games and full camps. Not to mention we need those mini camps. THEY MATTER ALOT, it turns out. More injuries are expected due to guys having to play themselves into game shape in season.

Agreed. The “injury” could end up being a blessing since there’s no way the coaches would bench the $100million man on their own accord. I wish there was a way to retract the money when thieves like Lawrence mail it in.

It truly amazes me that he still has a decent amount of defenders on this board. There’s always a few who throw out the typical “you just don’t know football — Tank is still having a massive impact on the game; it just doesn’t show up in the stat sheet.”

yeah, alright.

The same **** they've been trying to claim to justify Crawford's ridiculous contract as well. Some fans just can't admit when bad decisions happen and players aren't living up to the deals they signed.
