Just heard on 105.3 the fan:
  • Both Tony and Dak have had 5 400 passing yards regular season games.
  • Tony went 0-5 and Dak is 4-1.
Obviously you never go into a game planning on passing for 400+ yards, but it seems like Dak delivers more often than not when he is forced into those situations.

Feel free to discuss.

True but Romo also did not have the luxury of a good Oline till latter part of his career. Though that was the case yesterday as well and Dak had a hell of a game.
That's not true. Romo had a time in his career where it was the Mackenzie Bernadeau and Nate Livings era. That was a bad offensive line. But before and after that he had some good offensive lines.

Goes to show just how horrific those defenses were that Jerry trotted out during the Romo years
Dak still hasn’t had a defense as good as Romo had between 2006-2009. I would take any of those defenses instead of the 2016-2020 versions.

At least those defenses had some ability to put pressure on the QB, forced turnovers, and actually scored themselves about 3x as many times as Dak’s defenses/special teams. They also created more short fields and had to deal with worse starting field position more often due to more frequent offensive turnovers.

Dak’s defenses have been protected by ball control, fewer turnovers putting them in bad position, and relies a lot on unforced errors from the other team. This makes their overall numbers look much better than what they are when they are on the playing field.

Now, Dak’s defenses are definitely better than the 2010-2013 versions Romo had.

Surely haven't had as good of a DC either since Wade.

Romo was good for us. He had his flaws but I appreciated what he brought to the table. Same for Dak. No QB is perfect nor is Dak but what he brings to the table is appreciated and gives us a chance to win.

We as players and coaching staff did everything possible to lose this game and Dak never gave up and because of that the players around him never gave up. That intangible of leadership will serve us well especially this season with a new coaching staff on both sides of the ball and special teams.

I don't get it. If we use stats to try and show Romo was a better QB some people go ape shirt. "Romosexual", "can't you let Romo die in the past"... among other insults.

But if we use Romo stats to show how much better Dak is than Romo, people get right in line.

Would be cool if the zone made any reference to Romo invisible. I think it's silly to compare the two at this point. Different team, different coaches, different times, practically a different era!

Dak is good enough...yep...he needs a team around him and some good luck just like any other SB winner.

Cant we just have love for both romo and dak? Can't we just appreciate that the cowboys will have had two decades of qb play that can get you to the post season?

This one or the other talk is nonsense.

Right on brother. Some of us can!

That's because Dak is better than Romo, hence why he took his job. You guys just put romo on a pedestal that was created in your minds that was not close to reality.

Not sure what you mean by "you guys".

If you mean people that are willing to give "fair" Dak criticism and accountability without silly insults or calling for his head- just like every single other player......then okay...count me in.

Just because you might not agree with it doesn't make it it not "fair".

What stats is it to show that Romo is better than Dak though? Its not his playoff record or his wins........
