Ugh. Typing too fast and not thinking.Taco plays for the Chiefs. The Seattle DL is L.J Collier, Poona Ford, Jarran Reed and Benson Mayowa. You are right that it is not a big name line, but Mayowa has a little game. He has as many sacks as any Cowboys DL.
The bigger problem for Dallas is going to be the Seattle WRs. DK Metcalf had a pretty good day last week against Stephon Gilmore, the best CB in the league. Dallas has to double team Metcalf which means someone needs to lock up with Locket. With Brown and Awuzie out, the Cowboys are limited with what they can do. If Diggs is hurt too, then they are pretty screwed.
Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and the Ravens all have very good defenses.Ravens just gave you the look..there are some good defenses out there but only a few..so MOST would be better word..
The power of collective thought is an unbelievable force. We will win this game. Project positive thoughts!
4 out of 32 , that not a lotKansas City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and the Ravens all have very good defenses.
We have a bunch of injuries on D and Gregory coming back. Hopefully we can eventually turn into an opportunistic D that gets turnovers. Isn’t Nolan supposed to be known for defenses that force turnovers? We shall see!
Ugh. Typing too fast and not thinking.
I meant Benson Mayowa. (They have Damontre Moore, too.)
My bad. Mayowa and Charleton are pretty comparable though.
This matchup has shootout all over it because neither team has a top 16 D and relies on their offense to keep the other one off the field.
The advantage goes to Carroll because he at least has one vet stud in his secondary so he can bring the blitz better than the Cowboys relying on their secondary to cover those two WR's and the Cowboys pass rush cannot let him just stand back there and let those WR's clear. The game can get out of hand quickly.
This game will be a Prescott coming out party, if he is to rise into that Tier 1 of QB's. He's facing not only a Tier 1 QB but the one playing at the highest level through 2 games and his weapons can match Prescott's weapons. This is his face off after facing a former Tier 1 in Ryan last week.
The other matchup that intrigues me is McC v Carroll, both considered Tier 1 coaches at their respective specialties and diametrically opposed.
NFL fans want a shootout and a showdown. The Cowboys fans should want the same thing because they stand a much better chance in a shootout rather than rely on this defense.
I do not think that will work. Carroll isn't going to allow the Cowboys to do that and that's also what he'd like to do and he's a lot more of a run HC than McC.I am running this ball down there throats in the first half. Keep our Defense and wilson off the field. Then go play action and hit deep and score. Go deep and pass it around in the 3rd quarter. Run it in the 4th quarter when they are hands on hips. Hide our weakness and keep there strength off the field. We are beat up on corner right now.
I don’t want to see them get away from the run. We started off running last week and if not for the fumbles we would have ran it well. Actually still did. Run 30 times use the RB in screens. Not sure how good the seahags secondary is. Looks like our WRs are healthy. I just don’t want to get into a score fest. We have been making to many mistakes.I do not think that will work. Carroll isn't going to allow the Cowboys to do that and that's also what he'd like to do and he's a lot more of a run HC than McC.
I think the Cowboys need to go in there with the idea they can beat SEA at their own game. Really think they've got a top 10 QB? This is where they prove it. They don't protect him with a run game, they turn him loose against one of the best and see just where he is. He's got weapons, he's got an O minded HC. Time to step it up.
In some regards, this is like the Manning-Romo pass off when most felt that the Cowboys would try to play keep away from Manning and they fought fire with fire. Prescott is just coming off a showdown with Ryan and proved himself up to that overcoming many mistakes.
We've been debating how good he is and how much he's worth and he's in a contract year. This is a game they should put him head to head with a QB that is worth what he's getting paid, at least on a comparative level. Even the Dakaters will have to back off if he shows up in SEA.
If I am Booger, I tell McC to put this game in the QB's hands. They've been deliberating on how much he's worth, this is a very good chance to find out and relax or bring forth the doubt. Want to see how close yours is to the best, put him up against the best. This game could be a lot more than just a game within the season.
I disagree about his coming out party. This is the game he's been waiting for, he hears and sees all the things about him not being a Tier 1 and what he's worth and he's facing off on not just a Tier 1 but the one at the top of the charts right now, he's already the odds on MVP.I don't see this as a coming out party for Dak. He's going to have all day to throw, and he'll have a big day. No excuse not to, and I don't suspect he'll have any issue moving the ball.
The key is to hold serve and don't get behind by two scores. Too tough to come back if you fall behind because the defenses won't be stopping anybody the second half.
Field goals are punts in this game.
Neither team will get away from the run but I think both feel it is the pass that will best get the other offense out of their game plan.I don’t want to see them get away from the run. I am going to make them stop our run first. But also we need to take shots. Shultz maybe still being left open.
Any word on Tyron yet.
Seattle has no pash rush. Zero. Atlanta and New England moved at will with no resistance. Their secondary is terrible, as are their linebackers other than Wagner.I disagree about his coming out party. I've never seen him address it but when Romo went up against Manning in that shootout, that was exactly what he wanted, to measure himself against the elite. He lost the game but they looked at him a lot differently after that game.
This isn't just Dak Prescott's game for the Cowboys but any interested teams as well. This is his 2020 audition and he already has a lot of light on him after bringing them back against ATL.
erod, one thing about this guy and his history, just when the doubters rise up, he puts them back in their seats and that's been his MO since he was a teenager. Some see the challenge but he sees the opportunity. There will be at least one player in that game that thinks he's every bit as good as Russell Wilson. Time to prove that to the others.
Note: Some of you might not know my history with this sort of thing and the human condition and my predictions. You'd be wise to take the under and bet that neither QB completes 50% and it's a FG fest.

Terrible defense. No 12th man. Zeke will run wild, and Dak will be playing pitch and catch while he eats a sandwich in the pocket.
Before the season, this game in Seattle looked like a very tall task. Recent injuries suggest the same.
However, there's certainly an opening here.
Seattle has one pass rusher, and they just lost him. Bruce Irvin is done. Taco Charlton not only starts for the Seahawks, he's probably their best rusher.
In other words, no pass rush at all.
Seattle has two defenders - Wagner and Adams - and a bunch of nobodies with them. This is a bad defense much like our own.
Yes, Russell Wilson has thrown 9 touchdown passes in eight quarters, and the Seahawks offense will be hard to stop.
But....the Cowboys should score at will, too. Seattle offers very little defensive resistance.
We could see 80+ points this weekend. Dak and Wilson could throw for 500 yards each. A thousand yards of offense.
That seems the only way to take this one.
