Three games into the season, where are the safeties?

The Dallas Cowboys defense has faced 108 passes and the starting safeties have ZERO passes defended. ZERO. Matter of fact, I can't even recall either S even being CLOSE to making a play on a pass attempt thus far. I mean this is practically impossible even if you tried to AVOID the ball. And it's not like you can excuse them by saying they are playing conservatively deep keeping everything in front. Guys are running behind them literally 30 yards downfield. The ability to read, anticipate and instinctually break on plays simply isn't there. If you can't do that as a S, what good are you?

While I believe the communication overall will improve in the secondary, the skill level at the S position is non-existent. We should be rolling in free agent S by the dozen for tryouts. I may be wrong, but there's no way you can convince me there aren't at least a handful of better options available.

We need an alpha enforcer in this team that will abuse and physically hurt teammates who aren’t playing well

Boy, it's a good thing ol' drunk boy Stephen moron Jones said no changes in the secondary this week.

And, yes, I would still deal with an ET over the crap the Cowboys have in the backfield.

if any one in this organization says “we like our guys” ever again they should be fired! jerry too!

Well Jerry and Son made a huge effort in fixing this situation this offseason with Clinton-Dix.

That didnt work out.

It's someone else's fault.

We like our guys.

This team is brutally run. Theres no other way to look at it.

My single most issue with this team. I know people say we always ignore the position, but this has been atrocious.

Woods has gotten so much worse from last year. Last year we could at least count on him making a few big hits or stops in the run game.

I am begging someone to go rewatch the Seattle game and convince me Thompson knows what he’s doing. I saw 2/3 big plays where he looked around pre-snap completely lost on who to cover or what to do. Put him back on special teams only.

It’s elementary as a safety to just let a WR run past you. For God sakes tackle him, trip him, get a PI or something. How did you get to the league not knowing that people can’t just run past you regardless of what coverage you think you’re in.

It's clear that no true training camp and preseason has negatively impacted the entire defense. New players, coaches and schemes. Need more time for them to sort it out. Winnable games coming up and QB's won't be as good will help also.
