As far as I can tell He is not signed in 2021. There's no way he is getting franchised. If he hits the open market he is gone. Why do people here keep talking as if he will be a part of the team next year. . . unless Cowboys sign him for 9 million so he can rehabilitate at the Star.

Seriously, How much would you be willing to throw away nursing him back to health? I wouldn't go any higher then 11 million. . . for old times sake

He’ll either get franchised again (and coming off injury he wouldn’t have much choice but to sign, as he will have to give another team film before anyone would give him a big deal) or sign a new deal with us for $25-30 million a year. Either way he’ll make far more money here than he would anywhere else next season, and our FO will have the inside scoop on how his recovery is going.

The chances that he isn’t our QB next year, assuming he has a normal post op course for this injury, are so low they aren’t worth discussing. Jerry isn’t letting his franchise fall back to the 2000 - 2005 QB carousel days, he has said that was the most hopeless he’s ever been.

You really think the Cowboys are gonna franchise a one legged Duck. The only time he is successful is when he is running around dumping passes off. Accuracy, reading the field and touch are not his strong suits. His legs are.

He is done and if Mr. Jones pays him the Cowboys are done.

He’ll be back. Unless we go full rebuild I don’t see why not. Franchise deal... show me year for dak to get his long term deal.... and another year to see if we can win it all with the current crop of players

Keep dreaming. The ship has sailed. Who is gonna invest in a one legged QB who Doesn't have the skills to be a QB . . . most of his toughness & leadership came from his scrambling ability.

Now that's shot.

I agree and I hope that's how it plays out. I hope Jerry still gives him the 100 million signing bonus but the contract is for 5 years and for less amount per year than the 35 Jerry offered in March. The only thing that makes me feel better is that this could be a blessing in disguise, maybe this will wake Dak up that he needs to get as much guaranteed money possible and let go of the idea of a 4 year deal. Dak might be easier to negotiate with or he may fire his agent and get a better one. I just hope and pray he recovers fully and gets his money. Seeing him in tears as he was carted off really made me sad. It shook me up. I feel terrible for the guy and I hope his story is a happy one and I hope it's with Dallas.

Allen Hurns had pretty much the exact same injury (from everything we know so far) in January 2019, and was playing WR for the Dolphins in September 2019.

And I don't care how much a QB runs, they don't run as much a WRs do.

So before you wish too hard Dak is done, you may not want to count your chickens before they hatch.

Just a suggestion.

One of your other posts stated you’ll take the better QB in Dalton. Now that’s laughable. Dalton has never been better than maybe 10 other NFL starting QBs in his career. 31 NFL GMs passed on giving him even a shot to compete for a starting spot. So what do you know, that they don’t?

He went with greed, and didn't sign. It's a business not a game. He should have taken the money.

Y’all really gotta stop drinking the kool aid the Jones’s sell y’all. You would think 25 years would be enough evidence that this FO doesn’t know what they’re doing but I guess not

The FO didn't sign him. Maybe they woke up?

I'm not drinking kool aid. They were smart enough to sign AD and have a great insurance policy.

Yeah, he either got some very bad advice from his agent or he made a horrible decision. No way he should have turned down $32M/yr with the added benefit of $7M in automatic endorsements.
