CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Jerry Jones is an acknowledged salesman. It’s probably his greatest strength coupled with his business acumen. He could sell sand in the desert.

But as a builder of NFL rosters, he is a colossal failure. And we have mounds of evidence over two plus decades.

So...let’s look at all the blue kool aid sales jobs the slant driller himself has sold Cowboys fans for a qtr of a century:
  • Chan Gailey as HC for two seasons.
  • Two #1 draft picks traded for Joey Galloway
  • Quincy Carter- 4th round talent taken in the 2nd round as our future at QB
  • Dave Campo- HC for 3 seasons. When owners have no cap on coach spending.
  • He turns it over to a HOF HC in Parcells (to sell a stayjum) Then forces TO on Parcells.
  • Decides Tony Romo doesn’t need a real OL because “he’s mobile”.
  • Coach Cupcake- 3.5 seasons. With a “head coach in waiting” in Jason Garrett.
  • Trades for WR Roy Williams as the “final piece we need”.
  • Jason Garrett- for a decade. Given three seasons to “learn on the job”. Even after 3 straight 8-8 seasons, and only 3 playoff appearances in a decade.
  • Hires Mike McCarthy who hires Mike Nolan as his DC.
  • Believes the 2020 team is capable of competing for a championship “as is”.
Other than the hapless Bungles, no other GM in this league would be able to keep his job with half of these failures.

All of these ideas were sold to our fans by the guy with a “til death do us part” contract. And all his kids too. And these clowns are asking us to have “patience”?

You still buying what the Jones boys are selling?

Let's not forget the "special teams draft" and building a "Dak friendly" offense.
How could I forget. That alone would get someone fired.
I was a fan before Jerry I’ll be a fan after Jerry (hopefully I live that long).
I’ve always said I will never allow the Jones to steal my fandom. Which is why I will continue to point out he’s the biggest problem we have.

Me too but the problem is the team will remain in the hands of football idiots. Ive seen enough of Stephen to know a football idiot when i see it. Stephen manages the salary cap and is responsible for overpaying an aging offense line, spending too little on the defensive, signing gutless quitters like #21,#90, & #54 while alienating Dak, the only one worthy of a fat contract. There are no shortages of Joneses to continue to run our team into the ground under the banner of hubris.

Seems they hid Jerry away. I think they slipped him some sleepy meds at the end of the half so they could make a quiet departure at the end of the game. It's bad in Dallas right now, seems there is a lot of silence atm. They don't know how to respond yet.

Talking about the good things the Jones boys have brought (new stajum, most profitable franchise, etc) is like saying Hitler helped the German economy during ww2.

Jerry is a coward.

none for me!

tired of hearing about how great the talent on this team is and how their goal is the super bowl blah blah blah! until they prove it on the field im not buying it any more period!

I stopped buying the contender talk years ago. Now I just watch for enjoyment with zero expectations.

It is painfully obvious Jerry has no idea how to build a football team.

I have not bought anything. I take each year at a time.
After today, it it just another wasted year. Going to be a long next few months or so.

This has been an average team for 25 years

And the past 15 years this team is a lock to win between 8-13 games they just do win playoff games

2020 though is a different animal.....i think McCarthy was bought in to change things and change is painful and often times leads to what were seeing now

and this team isnt a contender for anything I gave that up in 1998 when Moss showed his behind on us thanksgiving day

I can say with confidence that I can't remember a season where we've seen so little shots of the Jones boys in their suites during the games.

Only time I saw them against NYG was when Dak got hurt, then Monday night you didn't see them until late in the second half. Didn't see them at all today.

They should be ashamed.

Correct on all points Hazey and you could have listed a lot more. Remember drafting pitchers to be QBs? If 25 years is not enough evidence, then I dont know what will.

The pitch will be extra effective this year. Covid, first year coach, no dak, no dalton, and injuries. Even nolan gets a pass.
