Everyone keeps pounding the table for a cheap, cost controlled rookie qb, but the alternative can arguably be just as effective. Keeping Dak with this offense and infusing the defense with high picks is probably a much better proposition.

discuss.
(Except pappy and the usual suspects )
The franchise needs to be renamed and moved out of Dallas.
These aren't the Cowboys. They show tendencies of a team with other things on their mind.
Maybe they could go to xxxxxxxx, xxxxxx.

“Dak at whatever deal” :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Dak on a rookie deal and franchise tag for 4 games was 6-10 in his last 16

Move on

yup. My opinion. You’re one of the usual subjects, you’ve already been accounted for

The needs on this team are

Defensive line at least 2 tackles and a defensive end

Three linebackers

2 safeties

Offensive tackle

Guard

Some players that have

either could work but i just think this team need to be blown up and completly rebuilded. that wont happen if dak gets paid...it will just be 5 years of the same thing we been watching and it does not work.

If we managed to get the #1 pick in the draft, I'd trade down for a BOAT LOAD of 1st round picks, and go defense for 3 years straight.
I would not. I would pick Lawrence and use some of the money you saved on fixing this defense. Get a good safety and some DTs. And players that show some effort.

I like your thinking. Collins and Smith return to the OL next year. Huge upgrades. Zeke isn’t going anywhere, so that should definitely help him. Offense will be fine, we know that with what we’ve seen this year with Dak at the helm. Obviously, gotta go all defense this year and one OL pick on the first day.

Why didn't the Chip Kelly offense work in the NFL? you think that Dak could have slow starts every game this seasons and then turn it on, put up a lot of yards, and have that be sustainable?
I agree with you on that.

no excuses for the slow starts AT ALL

Unless Lawrence can put up more than 35+ Touchdowns and 5,000+ yards every season

He isn’t an upgrade from Dak.

Trevor Lawrence isn’t even as good as Deshaun Watson was at Clemson.

Disagree with you. I think he has a better skill set. Just my opinion.

What we should hope for is to be in a position where one of the top two QB are on the board. If you get 1 & 2 this year and 2 future 1st rd picks. That would be the start of a great rebuild

He doesn’t though.

Deshaun Watson is HEAD and SHOULDERS above Lawrence as a quarterback.

Watson has a 6th sense for the pocket, is a better playmaker, and much more athletic even with two torn ACLS. The way he tore up the bills defense in the playoffs last year was amazing.

What does Lawrence do better?

Dak is smart for not signing a long-term deal.
He will be looking for greener pastures.

All the complaints about "not getting Dak signed" ignore the possibility that Dak had little interest in signing here, and wanted out.

Dak is not going anywhere. He puts butts in seats which is really all Jerry cares about.

Win win either way. Keep Dak and pick like #4, #36, and #70. 3 defensive starters with those picks

Don't resign Dak and free up 100 million dollars over the course of the next 4 years. Can sign real defensive starters instead of late free agency bargain bins
Who are you signing?
Teams don’t let players worth keeping leave via FA. Yet we keep hearing about how getting rid of Dak is going to allow us to add a bunch of awesome starters on defense. A legit free agent starter on defense who isn’t over the hill is extremely expensive.

We will have a lot of picks in next years draft. Hopefully Tyron and Collins will come back strong. With Dak, Cooper, Galloway and Lamb and a healthy offensive line all we need is just an average defense. But what the team really needs is a change at the top of the organization. Quit with “We’re the Dallas Cowboys. We’re always great” crap and have some accountability. That has to start at the top.
