A few things here:
Super Bowl or bust people should be punched repeatedly in the face.
The entire meaning of sport is lost on these whiny, entitled people.
The Dallas Cowboys became America's Team with only 2 Super Bowl wins.
It was consistently playing high level football and doing it with class.
Make the playoffs every year, win games at high rates and repeat.

Many of these last year guys will result in comp picks.
Why would you go help some other team you will have to compete against next year??
For a bunch of pick sin a year where you ALREADY have a lot of picks?

Just get picks in 2022 when you need them/have roster slots.

The dart to throw at board thing is just stupid. This is literally what the Cowboys did under Lacewell and others.
Stack up bad picks and hope you hit. Then you don't hit.
You KNOW you are cutting half the guys you draft in that scenario because you already have roster slots counted.
You don't trade off legit NFL players for that.
You don't make people move to go play for another city if you think you can re-sign them.

You absolutely look to trade guys you don't want/expect back IF You get a good deal but you don't trade guys you don't want back and you don't trade for a bunch of really low picks. The hit rates are trash and you don't have roster spots for them.

Draft people are the worst. I say this as a draft guy. I am an old school pen and paper nerd as the draft on radio went down and marking dudes off my list
But these other nerds have now made draft nonsense more important than actual football.
It isn't.
These losers have mostly never played actual football.
TeamTank type guys that just wanna feel good and leech emotion and greatness off someone else's SB victory so they reduce the entire point of competition to nothingness.
The kind of people who quit Madden games when behind by 2 TDS at half-time.
Win or don't play losers.
Put together a full on Select team to play at your local rec.
I legit hate these people.

JC is right that most of these guys have very little value.
And because of that the best value for Dallas is finding out who has any heart and who can improve between now and season's end.
Trade off guys who you've written off sure but the rest is nonsense.

And no, you do not trade off Dak for 1 or 2.
It's a long shot and sucker's bet.
It's a broke dude going all in versus the house.
Buying a shiny object at it's peak of value with the hope you win the lottery.

I think Nolan is an easy out.
Mike didn't really have that many DC choices and in a terrible, terrible year the hatchet usually falls on someone.

Going to a pure 3-4 would require a lot of really specific picks and probably waste 3-4 guys on that defense who are pretty good in a 4-3.
Bill Parcells didn't even try in year 1 and instead went 10-6 and made the playoffs... he only swapped it fully year 3 after drafting DeMarcus Lawrence and Marcus Spears in round 1 of the 2005 draft.

We saw this in SF where they tried to switch and it took 2-3 years and 2-3 high draft picks to get it done.
Not sure there's this elite edge to go get to make this happen next year.
Probably should lean back into the 4-3 and go from there with some mix in of the 3-4 to offer challenges to the offense.
By year 3 you could probably be multiple.

I am definitely down with getting something for Chido or Lewis. Put Robinson in, who cares.

Those were my guys and I've stood up for Chido n Jourdan, but it's time if you can get something for them. Robinson sucks and will suck if he's out there, but like you say who cares.

I will stupidly wait one more week. I know, I know, I am being foolish. But this division is so bad that they can technically still win it.

They will likely get destroyed in Philly, especially if DiNucci is the QB. At that point, yeah, I slap on the for sale sign and see if I can start accumulating more later round picks. If I can get a 6th round pick for say Lewis, then maybe during the draft I can package two 6th rounders to move back into the 5th. Or if I have two 5ths, I can move back into the 4th.

The other thing is that we aren't terrible in drafting late round guys. Sure, we have some real bombs in that 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th rounds. But Biadasz was a 4th rounder and he looks like he might have a future. Wilson is a decent WR plucked in the 6th. Pollard was a 4th rounder. They seem to like Anae who was a 5th rounder. Noah Brown was a 7th rounder. Brown was a 6th rounder. Schultz has actually been serviceable and he was a 4th rounder.

That's not a ringing endorsement of their late round scouting but they still do at least a decent job of finding later round guys.

And then the other thing at play here is the cap............ we are scraping up against it, especially when the 2021 cap number is lower. Cheap, young players helps in that regard.

One week for what, Yellow belly coward won't change their ways in week, month or season. Yellow belly cowards have to be eradicated ASAP! This organization is in serious trouble and the only way to fix it is to get rid of the COWARDS, LAZY, HORRIBLE , TERRIBLE and LOUSY players on this team. One game film should give them an idea who needs to go...............

The draft order talk is so premature. Cowboys in 8th place right now, and 7 teams ahead of them are just as likely to continue losing, making it difficult to move up higher.

It wouldn't really. The players he talking about trading won't be back next year anyway.

Edit: I mean in regards to the future. We would be worse for the rest of the season but for next season the roster would be the same, but we would have additional draft capital to improve.

Fans tend to make terrible scouts or evaluators because we get announcer nonsense and social media dribble in our heads. .
DLaw is a top 10 DE. He has fought injury issues and anyone making 15+M will struggle to meet expectation but you drafted an R1 guy in Taco to take DLaw's job and he wasn't even close to being up to the task.
Amari Cooper is a legit top 10 WR. He is a massive reason Gallup and CeeDee look so good. They are single covered.
He is paid fairly but it is a lot. It'll look better as other WRs get deals.
Gallup and CeeDee will eventually earn more than Amari.
Dak maximizes those guys so I don't move any of them unless I move him.

Jaylon is a diff issue. He is a really good role player. He can be in some schemes/roles but is not an all pro type dude. The def staff has to allow him to make plays without constantly exposing him.
He'd really be helped by good safety play. And by being taken off the field some. His back ups always being hurt is a real issue that makes him worse. No way in hades he should play 100% of snaps every week like some elite gladiator.

RB are tough to handle. They fall apart very quickly but at their peak they carry teams. Just tough deal there but Zeke hasn't been worth his scratch for sure. Then again the OL fell apart and the back up hasn't been worth his draft status either.
Sometimes RB play is more about OL than their own work.
Pretty sure if Zeke was in CLE he'd killing it under Callahan's OL/run scheme.

All that said there is no reason this couldn't be a 12 month rebuild.
Go get a good 4-3 DC(Mike Zimmer/Marvin Lewis??). Use your heavy allotment of draft picks to find players who can help next year.
Use the rest of this year to develop back ups/depth for next year.

Jones threw 4 years away on Garrett, when he had Dak on a rookie salary, Smith on a rookie salary, Tank on a feasible salary, Zeke on a rookie salary, Jaylon on a rookie salary. He wasted time, and now we're in a mess. We're in a big BIG mess. So now, we're 2-5 with an injured QB. If all of the 1 win teams don't win anymore, we're stuck not being able to draft a QB if that's what we want to do.

It's pretty easy to see the offense as near complete with returnees and very deep with all the added experience for kids this year.

But this defense hasn't given us much hope or to build on. DLaw is legit. Brown and Diggs are OK. LVE potentially OK if healthy. Jaylon fine with reduced role.
It's just ugly on defense.
And it would be really nice to get a DC who has plans to maximize guys not just throw his scheme out there because he's in love with it.
