I honestly don’t get the four years thing. Why can’t we spend the offseason upgrading the defense? Grab FA’s at DT, S, LB. Package a few of our 10 picks and draft DT, S, LB, LT. On offense, we get back Dak, Jarwin, Smith, Looney, Collins, etc. We COULD be quite different in 2021.

Why not be hopeful? Who needs yet another thing to stress over? In this GAME (“game” being the operative word), one year turnarounds happen frequently!

OK, Eeyores and “realists”...fire away!

I love Jesse Holley. He played on UNC’s ‘05 National Champion basketball team, one of my favorite teams in all of sports.

I thought Nate’s take on his own passive reaction to a hit Pelleur took from Singletary (I remember this play! Jesus I’m old!) versus his reaction to if someone looked at Troy sideways was interesting. Obviously the Pelleur team was terrible and with Troy you’re playing on dynasty.

I think he hit the nail on the head - there is little to no team unity, team cohesion, or belief or trust in the man next to you and that’s the main reason why no one stepped up to defend Dalton.

I get having a four year plan per say, (or five year plan or whatever) if you’re laying out a strategy after doing an organizational analysis regarding what we need but I don’t think thats something necessarily set in stone.

If, however, they’ve truly gone to a four year plan as an objective road map to the future then we are absolutely in rebuild mode. That doesn’t sound like Jerry.

Any time on the Holley claim? That show is almost an hour long.

Anyway, I can't see anyone in the front office claiming that, either. We know no one in the Jones family ever would.

I'd almost be happy if someone from the new coaching staff actually said this, because it would mean they realize how little talent is on defense and understand that you can't fix this with a couple of band aids.

Nobody did dumb like you did. You should be in hiding, not digging that hole any deeper. Hang your head.

Leading the league in passing, even a week after he was hurt. Look dumber. I dare ya.

Because he had to. He was the only thing keeping this trash team in any games. Which has obviously been proven true. To anyone with a functioning set of eyes and brain.

The only person "crying" is you. I'll pay Dak and get rid of everyone else. He is and was the only guy earning that pay.

But you continue to wallow in willful ignorance and look like a laughing stock if that's your thing.

Listen...

My take was always Dalton could get Dak like results.

Dak was losing.. Dalton is losing.

Was Dak's losses prettier? Of course they are.

Did also threw a lot against defenses that happen to suck at stopping the pass.

Of course he "earned that pay". Who doesn't against the Falcons Seahawks and Browns? Where was his greatness in the 2nd half of the Rams game? Oh whats that? They aren't completely terrible.

We have more than 1 season of Dalton to know what he can provide to a team.

We have more than 1 season with Dak to know what he can provide to a team.

Taking the catastrophe of this Oline the past couple of games along with a defense that can't stop a nose bleed and blaming his is stupid..

JUST LIKE..

It would be stupid to blame Dak.

So for those of you who are too thick to comprehend what i'm saying for the millionth time...

DAK > DALTON

But..

DALTON can get DAK LIKE RESUULLLLTS..

DAK WAS LOSING.. DALTON IS LOSING...

Was it DAKS FAULT? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo

Is it DALTONS FAULT? NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo

The TEAM is in CHAOS...

Now before everyones brain goes haywire...

DAK IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.....

IMO........ HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO OVERCOME HIS CONTRACT THAT HE WANTS.

DALTON in an OPTIMAL ENVIRONMENT will get DAK LIKE RESULTS.. He HAS SHOWN THAtT in his career in optimal environments.

DAK.. WAS NOT WINNING EITHER...

BOTH GUYS ARE NOT DIFFERENCE MAKERS.

I'm not sure I buy the notion ANY team truly needs 4 years of rebuilding in today's NFL. Hell, give the Jets Lawrence, a capable head coach and they might be in contention by '22.

The problem as it specifically relates to Dallas is that we are currently amidst a 30-year rebuild.

You're not wrong, the issue is this team is up against the cap. Im not sure how they bring in any notable free agents after tagging dak.

You've got a high draft pick and return 3 studs on offense who went down with injury. IF all goes well...culture change, oline stays healthy, dak has no complications, and you hit in the draft this team could be competitive in 2021. Thats just a lot of ifs.

Tell yourself whatever lies you need to. CAPITALIZE everything you type, it still hold no value and has no merit.

If you can't see the monumental divide between Dak's performances and Dalton's you've got a mental health issue and should get checked.

You have been wrong about Dak for years now, and can't get over your personal outrage that quarterback wants to be paid quarterback money. Well get used to it sweetheart, because he does, and he will.

And if YOU can't handle that? Find something else to do with your time. It's clear that understanding football isn't your thing.

Progress lol...

OH.. Thats probably why I said Dak is better than Dalton..

I even used all caps for you.

You have a comprehension issue and should get checked.

What am I wrong about Dak?

Let's see.. I say he's a good solid QB... Am I wrong about that?

I say he needs a lot around him to win? Am I wrong about that?

What exactly when it comes to Dak am I wrong about please do tell me because I can't wait for you tell me that I think Dak is not good again so I can bring your comprehension into question again.

That is probably due to the people we have running this organization. Sean McVay was in the Super Bowl year 1. Doug Perderson won a Super Bowl in year 2. If you have the right personnel people....you can be competitive in 2 years!

You may want to look a that again.. I think they went to the Super Bowl in year 2. Pederson was year 2 but dude spent several years with Andy as the OC before getting the big chair. But the point is well made. It doesn't take 3-4 years to turn things around in the modern NFL. The right guy can do it in two years or less. Besides, whatever horrible record this team ends up with will not represent the true talent level of the team anyway since about 10-12 starters will be on IR by the time the season is done. The uniforms look the same but any sane fan knows that the team we're rolling out there on Sundays aint the Cowboys.

Agree, and Jesse has been known to make some pretty outlandish statements. Especially when he first started his sports analyst career. He got better. But I question his source. Seems a lot of creativity in this "opinion" from both he and his source.

Not one person in the team FO or on the team is going to tell him this.
It could be coming from Jane Slater. :muttley:
Jesse knows he gets attention if he overstates things. I don’t know if he’s that dramatic as a person or that is just his media role.

Rebuild?:lmao:When can you name the last time we had a successful rebuild? I'll help you. Jimmy Johnson and maybe Bill Parcells. Neithier is stepping through that Star door so 22 years and counting. Good Luck.

this is the truth. No ones here to fix this mess . Jerry certainly can’t and won’t.

Exactly, but that's the point.

The next time the Cowboys are legit, it won't be with this team. There'll be 2-3 guys left from it, if any.

My point is you can turn around your team in 1-2 offseasons if you have a couple pieces in place already, like a franchise QB.
