Who are we competing with?

AFC
Jets 0-7
Bengals 1-5-1
Texans 1-6
Jaguars 1-6

NFC
Giants 1-6
Vikings 1-5
Falcons 1-6

So we have to compete with the Jets, Jaguars, Falcons, Giants, Vikings
I don't see the Jets winning more than one game and this will probably doom us. Man we can't even lose correctly.
Just imagine we luck into a Herbert, Burrow, Tua type . I would keep Nolan and keep the complicated scheme. Winning a game moving forward is a mistake. 2-14 should get us the 2nd pick and Lawrence will balk at going to the Jets so that is where Jerry swoops in and grabs him.

What are your expectations for this season?
5-11?
I have expectationions that are not that great based on the reality of the situation, maybe 5 wins at best, but you can be sure I am rooting for this team to win every time they step on the field. Your original post is actively rooting for the team to lose no matter how you word it, that is 100% wrong in my book. Low expectations and rooting against your team are not the same thing.

Only the Jets, really. I'm pretty sure the other teams will win at least 3-4 games. Cinci will get another when they play Dallas. Jets could win 2 games. Pick up 1 along the line, then maybe week 17 if their opponent doesn't need the win. Who knows?

You're better than that c'mon man! You know darn well there isn't one man on this team that wants to lose a game let alone 9 more in a row!! No chance especially when Lee returns cause he will regain their focus. I really believe that. Every single player on this team right now is playing for their jobs and no one is giving up. Even though it looks like that on some plays...

I think we will win between 1 and 3 games out of our remaining schedule. We could pick anywhere between 3-8 but the victories over the Falcons and Giants (who might be keen to lose in week 17) will count against us.

I wonder how Bengals fans feel after going 2-14 last year and ending up with Burrow. Do you think they would prefer to go 6-10 ?

They are also competing against any other team that might be willing to trade the draft as Snyder did for Griffin and Ditka did for Williams.

If CIN or HOU gets that top spot, they're looking to make a haul because they don't need a QB. I think ATL is going for that spot and Lawrence.

again, you are missing my point, I have an issue with you rooting against the Cowboys and I would have the same issue with a Bengals fan doing the same thing. Fake fans root against their teams. End of discussion.

LMAO, did you see them? They were cheering every time the other team scored and had Burrow and Burreaux signs made. After all, it's just the expected mover, Tiger to Bengal.

They were so on board with native son, Joe, that Brown had no choice. If he hadn't landed there, he would have had to trade up to get him. Fans will forgive losing, if they get what they want.

Yep.
We need Trevor!!! I am not rooting for the Cowboys to lose.
Just like Spurs fans in 1997 were not rooting for the Spurs to lose. They ended up with Duncan and got 20+ years of success.
I don't know if Trevor is that kind of player.. but lets try to get a generational talent, like the Colts did in Manning.

Exactly
The jets are the real competition
At best we might win one more game
The odds of jets winning more than one more are slim
They have one of the toughest schedules
Hopefully we stay with Ben at QB and get the young players reps and find a way to lose the rest of the season
Losing really is winning at this point

For me I will never root for the Cowboys to lose. However, they have looked really bad the last few weeks. Based off those games and the injured guys who will not play again this year, I don't see them winning another game. Got pasted by a bad Washington team. Maybe, just maybe they can turn some aspects of the team around in the next nine games, but to this point, they haven't shown a glimpse or the improvement to make that happen. For the rest of the season, my expectations or hope is that the defense can improve to become more competitive and individually some guys on the OL improve and protect a little better for on backup QB's. I look at it like a nine game pre-season, where we are evaluating talent and hope to see improvement to help with future seasons.

He has already contemplating returning to school if the Jets or Giants have the pick.

I wonder if Lawrence would stay in school if the Jaguars had the #1 pick locked up.

Love it. You have a career in crisis management work. The goal is to go 2-14... my blunt way of saying it.
