Soooo...they spent 3 years developing Cooper Rush, who while not playing in the reg season looked ok in the pre-season.

since Big Mike basically was Dinucci’s lone cheerleader, they dump Rush, suffer major injuries and realize Dinucci is so bad that they bring back Rush and plan to start him?

He is, but let's be honest, Rush has no future here. DiNucci could be a nice backup in the coming years. It would be a big mistake to start Rush over Gucci DiNucci.

Without a doubt Rush has no future. He is a mid level backup at best, or at least that's my best guess. We've never seen him in a regular season game to get a good feel. If he does start Sunday that will be a sorry situation for his NFL debut as a starter.

But I don't know why it would be a mistake to start Rush over DiNucci. DiNucci clearly isn't ready to play at this level yet, especially behind a banged up O-Line, and it's not as if he would benefit from the Steelers beating the hell out of him.

My issue is the Rush is our best option

If he is, he is, so we might as well use him. And, realistically, going into the season if we had him as our 3rd team QB behind Dak and Dalton we would/should have felt we had really good depth at QB. I get why we went with DiNucci - a 3rd teamer that hopefully had some upside - but the situation is different now.
