Dallas Cowboys: Time to think about tanking the season

We are not even currently better than the Jets.

So we don't need to tank.

Also, fact is, yes we put up more points with Dak, but all that means is Dak is better than the current QBs we have which isn't saying much. He's still average.

We need to lose out and get a top pick of QB in the draft.

If Jerry and Steph are smart this is what they will do. D

Dak is average, and now will command more.

Dak is coming off a major injury

Dak might feel a way and want to leave

So draft a QB, then Defense and O line rest of the draft.

This is a painful article to read but unfortunately its the truth!

It’s over folks. Let me give it to you straight. I really don’t care that the Cowboys have an easy stretch of games after they host the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Or that the rest of the NFC East is just as weak.

Without the team’s true MVP in Dak Prescott, the Cowboys are just a stepping stone for other squads. Dallas is the NFL piñata, a punching bag that gives other teams time to practice and sharpen their knives.

Harsh? Yeah. But the Dallas Cowboys deserve it. When you leave Andy Dalton on the field, dazed and confused from a needless, unmeaningful hit, you deserve all the bad rap that goes your direction.

At this point, the Cowboys are doing one thing right. The team is unbelievably synced up on all three phases of football, providing nothing but embarrassing football for all to witness. I mean the Cowboys are so consistent in poor play that you almost feel sorry for them.

As it stands now, the best hope I can claw from this 2020 campaign is pulling in a high draft pick. Yes, I am canceling the Dallas Cowboys chances for the rest of the year. And if you haven’t followed this prescription already, you’re in for a lot of hurt and misery.

Yes without Prescott all is lost such as 9-7 2017 10-6 2018 and 8-8 2019 and cherry on the cake 1-3 2020.
Man, what the heck are you talking about here???

P.S.And who can forget the glory of 1 single playoff win in 4.5 years?

True fan: I don't care! Win or lose the Cowboys are my team!
Bandwagoneer: Welp.....lost season. No sense watching these bums.
While I understand your sentiment, and will always prefer a win, bandwagoneers don't spend most of their lives rooting for an unsuccessful team, and I think most if not all of the posters hear fall into that category.

This team was going to have a losing season regardless of Daks injury. They still werent playing well and even though Prescott was putting up big numbers he was turning the ball over way too much.
It wasn't just Dak turning it over. He did it more than we're accustomed to, but that doesn't mean he would have continued to.

Nothing to do with the defense having more holes than a teabag though

You're wrong on two accounts. First The play that Dalton got hit that caused his concussion he left the game and hasn't returned since. Next what tanking game3s will get you is the round 1 draft pick taken by goodell for tanking. The league watches very carefully the teams that will get top 5 picks to make sure they aren't tanking and still trying to win. There is no limit on the number of picks the league can take and the times they have done it, it was for tanking the 1 or 2 games of the season but if the Cowboys did it for the entire second half of the season the league could take their 1st, 2nd and maybe their 3rd round picks. As the league says there's a difference between a team trying and still losing and a team trying to lose. My suggestion is just don't watch anymore games this season.

Dallas doesn't have to try to lose. They don't have Dalton for at least 2 more games, so that's 2-8. We're done. Play hard and start dinucci the rest of the way.

It could just be me but if Dalton, who I'm not a fan of, is OK to play and the Cowboys don't play him and go with one of the QB's that have VERY little NFL experience I think the league would be calling that tanking. The only game for sure that Dalton will miss is this Sunday's..

I just heard a report not much more than an hour ago that Dalton has covid. Think it was fish.

And if what you say is true about not starting Dalton, then cut him.

I hate this topic! Why do people think its OK to lose on purpose? No frikkin pride......why tank for next years success when you may not even be around to see it? Life's too short to quit and play dead. Don't bother trying to change my mind, because I never will. You enjoy your tucking tail, I'd rather go down fighting.

Agree 100%, Coach.

The Cowboys have effectively been tanking ever since Jerry ran Jimmy off. Unfortunately, too many here have adapted to, and accepted the practice.

Thankful every day that my parents’ generation, having barely survived the Great Depression, didn’t feel like tanking the day after Dec 7, 1941.

“All we need is one more good draft.”

Well Said, I wasn't sure if I was reading his post correctly because it didn't make sense to me..

Wait just a damned minute!! You mean to tell me they haven't already started doing that. What's next? Handing the ball to a DL and blocking for him?

Tanking denotes the ability to not tank, or win as it is known in some parts.

Amen Ranch, I’m with you 100%. It’s disappointing to see so many fans that give up so easily.

They're not cutting Dalton in fact he will be re-signed to babysit our new #1 pick QB in the upcoming draft.

Not this year Ranching man!!
No 8-8 for us to put us out of position in the draft for a new QB.
This year suck it up buttercup as.....The Dallas Cowboys with there no 1 pick select QB......BOOM!

I get the reasoning, but I don't see ever wanting to lose. Not in my DNA.

Agreed but we have to suck it up and have the patience knowing it's for a better tomorrow!
Cause today and yesterday sucked!
