I mean maybe Mike's tanking for a draft pick....maybe this will all make sense someday.......
So, he’s intentionally making dumb decisions on 4th down to throw these games. Of course. Brilliant. Lol

I remember him doing stupid stuff in Green Bay but not this stupid.
In not sure I’ve ever seen anything like this in several games now. Even before we were talking about tanking.

What if he cost a championship one year with a dumb decision like this. IDK. I’m not sure how we can deal with this. What’s the upside ?

I’ll be happy with safe or risky but I’m sick and tired of dumb! Get me somebody SMART!!!

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Why can we we not get a SMART HC in Dallas!?
:banghead:
I’d be ok with Moore taking over for rest of season. There will be some HC available next year. Although I don’t guess it matters now. Season is over.

The team has quit on a failing coach. It’s obvious. Maybe they should all go out and get exposed and put us out of our misery cancelling rest of the games.

Nothing is worse then your hero Garrett. With all these injuries Garrett wouldn’t win a game.

the pathetic baggage of roster garbage is a direct reflection of Garrett’s regime. You gave your hero 10 years and we’re still singing his praises.

At least you’re consistent. You said we were “3 wins better just by having McCarthy step on the field.” We’re 3-8 after 12 weeks. Your insight is keen.

You have zero idea what you’re talking about. It’s embarrassing. You should stop, really. The coaching this season has been just terrible, and it shows on the field and in the locker room.

Can’t wait to read the papers in the morning .

And see how our ownership attempts damage control on these dumb decisions on 4th down.

Dumbest coaching risk I think I’ve ever seen.

I dont think I have ever seen a pro football team go for it twice on 4th down inside their own 30.

McCarthy either has the biggest pair of balls in the world or he was trying to lose on purpose, no other explanation.

Maybe Big Mike has been reading this site and has joined "team tank" as its newest member:thumbup:

He took similar dumb risk earlier in the year too. I think we can argue this is now a consistent dumb trend.

Possibly unlike we’ve ever seen in the NFL. Certainly in Cowboys history.

Firing Garrett was the correct choice. Hiring McCarthy was a mistake.

Exactly...............just because Big Mike calls the game like he is playing Madden on rookie level doesn't mean we should have kept Garrett. He had a decade and won jack, that was ample time and he proved he could not get the team over the hump. The fact that Big Mike sucks arse still doesnt change that.

Not sure if the team was good enough to get over the hump.

This coaching change was meant to prove that.

And if team building and coaching staff was all on Garrett then he should be held accountable as such.

We can agree to disagree on the talent level, I think Garrett had enough talent to win more than 2 Wildcard games in a 10 year span and apparently Stephen Jones thought that as well, but that is not the point.

The point I am making is that Garrett not getting the team over the hump and MM sucking are not mutually exclusive events, they can both be true at the same time.

How would Garrett have done with Tyron, Collins, Martin, and Dak out of the game?
Probably similar with injuries. Like I said in a post above.

But I thought a more proven HC was to make a difference? Which wasn’t happening even with Dak.

“ getting over the hump” is a subjective argument . That’s a broad stroke . Assuming any of those teams should have been playing for a championship.

It might could be argued the fact they were on the brink was in itself the accomplishment.

And what this coaching staff was hired to prove...Garrett’s under achievement.

I cant argue that point, Big Mike was hired to advance the team further than Garrett and so far he is failing to do so.

However, its just his first year and the team has had massive injuries so I think he will get a pass from Jerry. Now if the team is sitting at 3-8 next year with a relatively healthy roster, then he might want to start updating his resume.

I agree Jethro gives him a pass this year. Ultimately without a championship game appearance it will be considered no progress from Garrett regime. I expect an improvement next year. Maybe even a playoff appearance to build on.

Anything beyond that is where the evaluation comes in. Unless at some point we are just more satisfied not advancing further with a more proven HC?

Maybe mentally as fans we need a more proven HC to not blame the coaching. Although this coaching we are seeing looks more inept than we have seen before.

Mediocrity sucked!!!! Nothing ever changed, meaning we never won a divisional playoff game. All those mediocre teams had top 3-10 talent too!! We had NO hope of winning a Superbowl with Garrett.

With McCarthy we at least have hope of winning a Super Bowl in the future. This season we have been devastated by injuries. McCarthy, not being Garrett, will hopefully, make changes to fix the problem areas.
1. Get rid of his lame DC, Nolan.
2. Make wholesale changes to the D. Good bye Crawford, Lewis, Awuzie, and especially Jaylon Smith
3. Focus on the D in Free Agency and the Draft
4. Release Zek. Find a good back in the 4th round or Free Agency. Increase Pollards roll.
5. Draft smart players that love football. In the past we have drafted to many dumb athletic players.
6. Keep an open mind about drafting a QB. Many of the young QB’s drafted early the last couple years are playing very well. This would save millions on the salary cap. Leaves money for other positions.
