Yesterday’s loss hurt really bad for many, we had everything setup, we’re picked to win, national stage....and got embarrassed

Many young fans are going to remember screaming at the tv and have a negative view...we’re losing a generation of cowboys fans here.

What’s next? Hope for losses? Hope for competitive games? Hope for wins? Feels like we have 5 games that can’t end soon enough.

luckily my kids are 6 4 and 4 months so they can be swayed by jerseys and good food....but for those of you with kids in the 10s to teens what are you doing to keep them engaged?

what’s next? As fans do we give up on this year and look to next) is there even a next to be excited about or are we too far out.

mr Jipper--- i can totally see your view...i have been a die hard cowboy fan since 1970--50 yrs...and cannot remember..even when we went 1-15 in 1989 of being so disallusioned and hearbroken over my team...like back in the day

we knew since we had Jimmy Johnson we would not stay losers...but same can no longer be said...it seems we reinvent ways to look pathetic....if Jerry does not clean house with coaching i may have to wait until he dies to watch again

but then i could be dead/....not a bright future

As long as the Jones "brain trust" is running the show I feel we're in for more of the same. Get lucky and make the playoffs now and then but otherwise we'll be mediocre.

Given Stephen has proven he is no better than dad, this could literally go on for another thirty years.

Now I am sad.

I have a feeling once more and more boomers die off down the road, you'll see less and less Cowboys fans. Most of the older crowd associate this franchise with greatness, while fans in my age range associate it more with embarrassment. I've never been more embarrassed to be a fan than right now.

It's a pretty deflating feeling when both of your favorite professional sports franchises are owned by Michael Jordan and Jerral Jones.

Like some, I asked this very question at the conclusion of the 1997 season after Dallas was thumped by the Giants in Irving to finish the season 6-10. Less than two years after winning Super Bowl number five, this franchise fell off a cliff and hasn’t come close to regaining its footing since.

Where do we go from here? I wish I could answer that one for you. My oldest just turned four when we walked out of Texas Stadium that day in ‘97. She finished medical school last year. And I still don’t know.

I mention all this, thinking we may be waiting a while. The Jones family is in no hurry making their way through the tour of 500 head coaches. And so it seems, they have all the time in the world.

Now it’s time to tank and let everyone get healthy. They will have tons of draft picks and hopefully will figure out what to do with certain high priced low producing players. Winning yesterday would have meant three good games in a row and signaled a turn around. I was all for going for it but after looking bad again and suffering even more huge injuries, it’s time to shut it down. A top 5 or 6 pick in rounds 1-4 is now the #1 outcome for this season.

Actually the drafting has been very good these past years. There's a lot of talent on that team. As far as the defense, the squad is built to play a 4-3 scheme and McCarthy and Nolan are not allowing them to play to their truest potential by keep dropping them into a 3-4 for which we have the wrong type DB's to play man for man down the field. And I've seen quite a bit of old Pop Warner 5-2 schemes... I mean... really? The O line is decimated, one of the best QB's is out and will have to learn to stand in the pocket and read defenses faster than when he rolls out to buy time. But, I think Dak can do it. And the running game is far too underutilized. For me it all comes down to extremely poor coaching from relics of the past. Draft that big tackle from Oregon(?) and then defense up the middle. But get a coach who can kick some tail on the practice field. Time to look again to the college ranks like we did with Jimmy Johnson because this team has quit on McCarthy's Maroons. McCarthy is the biggest bust in the past so many years, he makes Garrett look like a genius. And... I'd rehire Marc Colombo to coach the O-Line.

I feel for you but also congrats you have raised great kids as evident by what you shared.

I love my cowboys time with my kids and having a four month old boy to go with my 4 boy and 6 girl now I just want Sunday’s to be special time with daddy....

I just hope they start winning so I stop having to try and convince my kids that the cowboys are great

Appreciate that, sir. And I can certainly relate. The Cowboys were certainly front/center in my childhood as I spent many, many Sundays with my dad doing likewise.

As soon as the Cowboys start winning the bandwagon fans(I.e. haters, quitters and losers) will be back.

we shoot for a top 5 pick....this team is injured. flawed. wouldn't have a snow flakes chance in hell to do anything in playoffs...its best we lose now, get high draft picks and rebuild this defense.
