I say if Zac Wilson is there, you take him.

We could franchise Dak one more year or just let him enter free agency.

Wilson is going to be elite. Really like how he is has grown as a QB this year.

(Obviously take Lawrence of he's available over Wilson)

Only if they don't 100% believe they cannot sign Dak long-term.

If Dak hasn't signed yet, then yes. I'm on team Dak but if im picking top 5 and he's still refusing to sign after 2 years then I gotta look after my franchise. Sorry Dak, don't be so greedy.

If Dak has signed and we hate our options and no one will trade up, I might do it anyway if I believe a QB available is a franchise kind of guy. People might refuse to trade because they believe their QB will fall... if so then I just take that QB and worst case scenario I set up a Favre to Rodgers handover situation, best case scenario I sign one QB and trade the other for a massive haul. Teams can't gamble a QB will fall if I just stash him and then declare the bidding war open.

The moral is, when you believe a franchise QB is available to you, and you don't have a franchise QB signed to a deal on your roster, then you gotta pick the rookie QB.

I say this knowing full well that most "can't miss QBs" end up sucking whereas Dak kinda figured out the game, but Dak's abilities don't matter if he refuses to sign a freaking contract. It's purely business at that point, the organization needs a QB.

I am a Dak fan.

That being said. It depends on his contract.

If he is locked up long term prior to the draft. Then no of course not.

if he is stuck on yet another franchise tag. Then yes I do. I draft Wilson and then I trade Dak for the best offer I can get for him.

If Dak is willing to sign a cap Flexible deal. Then that is great. If he isn’t, and you have a chance at a top QB prospect. You don’t pass on that chance.

Absolutely they should draft a QB! Dak is damaged goods. Just like Wentz hasn't been the same since tearing his acl, Dak is going to lose mobility with screws and plates in his ankle. Not to mention he wants 35 mil a season. He hasn't been able to get it done when this team had a stacked oline and running game so it's time to move on.

Agree with you but if Lawrence is there you grab him. I might even tried to trade up to get him. I know though the Jets are not going to do it though so it is a moot point. Lawrence is looking good against ND after the int. His first TD pass he stepped up in the pocket after looking away and sent a strike for about 25 yards or mor I stride to the WR.

No, good QBs dont come often. Just a few years ago people thought Sam Darnold was a CAN'T MISS PROSPECT.....Dak is our QB.

So even if Dak still hasn't signed by draft day, you're gonna continue building your franchise around the guy who's denied every offer for literally years?

I gotta take a QB while I'm in the top 5 if I don't have one. I dont plan on being in the top 5 very often.

Just isn’t going to happen. If Dak stunk up this year in a full 16 games, then yeah, think you’d be watching a lot of Wilson/Lance footage.

Exactly my take.......if we enter the draft with him on the tag, yes I'm taking QB. You really have to assume after all this time and everything that's happened if they can't if they still can't get before the draft, it's not getting done. Take the best QB and TRY to trade Dak. I say try coz I'm not giving him away. I would have not keeping Dak here for the 2nd tag and letting my new QB sit and learn for a year.

Lol!

When your sitting there with a potentially great QB I dont know why you dont take him.
Dak is our QB but there is nothing close in value to a good to great QB. After a year likely you dont lose anything and might profit from from a trade or you see he's really damn good.
Dak has agreed to hard ball negotiations with this kid in our pocket we have leverage .

Depends where they draft and which QB is available..

Signing Dak is just too much for us to overcome..

I like this QB class too..

Imagin if we pass on a guy that goes on to be a Superstar QB because we had to pay our 40 million dollar non difference maker..

Im trying to think out of a thousand Darnold comments, how many actually said he was a cant miss NFL player

1% maybe?

He, Mayfield, and Allen and maybe even others in that class were considered good prospects with some risk—good enough to risk a high pick on—but none remotely in the cant miss category.

All options should be on the table but we know the Joneses have made up their minds. So if we continue to discuss it we all will be disappointed.

1) If you're in the top 10, you should think about it.

2) If you're in the top 5, you should.

Unless you want to lose your way to the top 10 or top 5 again, or give up the draft capital to trade up there.

3) Dak is nearly 30. In two years he'll be a success story or not. His future should be irrelevant to the decision.
