Next week:
Houston plays Cincinnati
Chargers play Broncos
Dallas plays Philly.

If all 3 games go our way we’ll be back up to 6.

Also Carolina finishes with Washington and New Orleans. Possible they could win both if NO rests players on week 17.

The Cowboys play two pretty bad teams to end the year. Completely possible they end up 7-9 if we see the same effort we saw today.
Hurts and Jones/McCoy are both MUCH better QBs than we saw the last two weeks. We’ve won both games because the two teams have beat themselves. Dallas hasn’t necessarily outplayed the competition although this week was much better than last week.

I wonder if the fans that want a top five pick are the ones that want to cut our fourth pick in Zeke???
Most think that Zach Martin is our best player, was he a top five pick?

It was a bad pick then and even worse now. Some people made it known when they drafted him

Yeah, I now they want us to lose so that Jerry can do it again.
So you want a lower pick so they pick a worse player? Zeke wasn’t a bad pick. People forget he was drafted to compliment Romo and be the finishing touch. He wasn’t expected to be on a rebuilding offense in just his second year.

Don’t forget Atlanta. They play the Saints and Bucs the last two games. I think they have a worse record than we do.

Your first sentence is not a fact. In fact alot of higher picks dont work out because they are at skill positions that fail a lot.

A lower pick doesn’t equal a worse player. That gets proven year after year.

Actually the true principles of the draft it is true. It is designed that the best draft eligible player goes first and the least talented goes last. No it never holds true but you always want the highest pick to give you the most options be it players available or trade options. Anyone who intentionally wants a lower pick doesn’t understand football.

The other thing that is helping us out this year is that there are no really superstar defensive players in the top 5 this year. You pretty much got the QBs and the big OT.

In other words, there is no Chase Young sitting there this year so if you need defensive help you can still get a blue chipper in the 9-12 range. Think LB Parsons or the CB Surtain.

there is no intentional about it. You don't play to lose.

the history of the draft tells us good players are taken at all spots in every round of the draft. This organization has shown you time and time again they will take high picks/2nd round picks/valuable picks and squander them on players not worthy of the position they are picking at or on players who can not even help the team in the immediate future.

Jaylon smith, randy gregory, Robert brewster, jason williams, trading a 2 for Drew henson, Gavin escobar, jj wilcox, chaz green, taco charlton, quincy carter etc etc etc.

they will do what they do.

Carolina isn't winning either of those games.

Nah, were screwed. And more than the win, this defense is balling out. And special teams is even playing well now. And if they continue to give Pollard more touches over Zeke then we are in big trouble.

I'm honestly hoping for top 8 right now. As long as we can pick either the top corner or the Lber from Penn I will be happy.

We can agree about teams not playing to lose, but anyone who at the end of the season would rather have the 15th pick than the 8th pick because they’re afraid of a bust is crazy.

but that is not the question. You want them to lose on purpose to get a higher pick which guarantees nothing. Losing however builds more losing.

middle round and late round 1 picks outplay top 10 picks all the time.

I think for many it’s about having draft capital to be able to trade back and grab more picks in the top 100 to restock the defense

not as much about getting a player that will be a top 5 prospect
