This spring is time to find the change of the tackle.

Back Issues just don't go away and he is no spring chicken in football years. Got to protect the Blind side.

I'm not saying the rookie has to start in 2021 but, the window is closing. Draft a tackle and spend the rest of the draft on the "D" side.

If i'm wrong tell me...I'm sure you guys will..

Did Tyron miss the season due to a bad back? No, it was a stinger, that required surgery. He still is playing at a high level and usually misses 3-4 games a season, which is manageable. He may have some mileage on his body, but he's only 30 years old. It makes zero sense to draft a high tackle, unless they plan on replacing Tyron next season, which I don't see happening. Perhaps drafting more of a developmental Tackle later makes more sense.

it's all related and the stinger makes it worse. forget the age..10 years in the Not for Long is an eternity. if you get fixed on an age, you will be suckered in like the rest. use Troy as an example.

Ware also had back/stinger issues and was able to play until he was 35.

You willing to play those cards again? It's all relative. two sides of an discussion. I'm just expressing consern. Only the medical staff knows the real deal.

Its time for Tyron to come into the office. He's done well, but injuries have taken his game away. SLee should be right behind him.

I am willing to prepare that his career is winding down, but not ready to replace him just yet. He still is too good to replace and on a team friendly contract. Having an expensive insurance plan doesn't make sense, especially for a team that is up against the cap.

If they draft any OL high, that tells me they do not have confidence in any of the young guys they been touting all year.
I know if one is there you take him, but to me it really is not a priority. If all the OL are expected to be healthy and 100%.

He played till 34 but ages 31, 33, and 34 were all significact reductions in snaps/playing time.

That being said if the surgery doesn't work I think Tyron will pull a Frederick and retire so there shouldn't be this weird gray area of him returning but being a bum

We don't know the extent of either injury to our starting Tackles. The team never said either one had a career threatening injury.

I think we need to replace at least 10 players over the next 3 years. I like Dak but no sense spending that kind of money during a retool.

I don't know what likely HOFER T Smith future holds but my draft philosophy has always been to never regret taking the best Lineman either side of ball available when you are on clock.

This is the same issue he's been dealing with for a few years. He finally just had surgery, his first ever surgery of his career. There is no reason to think he can't play for quite a bit more years at age 30.

Shouldn't that have been on JG for not adjusting protection?

I agree that Garrett was completely out of his element. But even at that point in Tyrons career he was having issues with his back, heck we probably would have won that game if Tyron played. His health cost us that game and others.

How long has that stinger been bothering him tho? He’s finally taking care of it. Should have another 3-5 years on him if that surgery worked out, plus when he does play he’s definitely top 3 at his position and LT is a hard position to fill

Luckily it's going to be a pretty clear cut verdict.

The surgery either works or he retires, I don't really see there being a confusing gray area
There has been a gray area for the past 6-7 years.
Yet when healthy top 2-4 LT in this league.

Not this time...Let him play next year if he can make it. That's going to about be the bench mark. it's time.
you mean these past few seasons of his body breaking down isn't enough? Love the big guy but he's not dependable at all. I keep him but its time to start looking for and drafting his replacement

I know. That was my point. Since it was a corrective surgery it will either work or it won't. I don't foresee there being this weird confusing gray area where he gets strung along

There's also the possibility that it does work but he retires anyways. He has the accolades to get into the Hall of Fame and he has more than enough money. kind of like how Frederick could have probably kept playing but chose not to
