Best secondary we ever had for picks.

Those defenses were not Doomsday quality and were buoyed by the interceptions. Just goes to show you how a well coached secondary with smart player leaders can do.

Loved that secondary. That said, Ricky Easmon finished that season as a Buccaneer. He was on the team for 2 months and was waived in early November haha.

Loved Michael Downs. Underrated.

Thurman's hit on harold Carmichael was epic. Ended his streak of consecutive games with a reception and put him out of the game.

In 1985, these chaps Dennis Thurman, safety Bill Bates, safety Michael Downs and corners Everson Walls and Ron Fellows, in no particular order, were Thurman's Thieves. But blimey! Who are the others?

As I recall they were just an adequate crew despite the costume drama.

The 1985 Cowboy defense had 33 interceptions, 27 fumble recoveries and 62 sacks. And, gave up 44 points to the Bears, 50 to the Bengals and allowed Eric Dickerson to go off for 248 yards rushing in the playoffs. Without those big plays on defense, the Cowboy record of consecutive winning seasons would have been one year less. All due to Thurman's Thieves.

I was a huge Michael Downs fan. He and TD were my favorites on those early 80s teams.

Back in those days was when men were men and played football to make a living, they worked other jobs during the off time. Those were the old Dallas Cowboys...

These days, they have players that can run and jump and throw a football for millions of coins and want more than several million dollars a year so they can feed the family. I loved to watch the Cowboys live at Texas Stadium. I saw Golden Richards catch a TD...

Come back and talk to me about a thing like this when you've built a thing, from the dirt up, that is and was the Dallas Cowboys Franchise. Jerry screwed Coach Landry and he knew it. why on Gods green earth would Coach Landry watch or help or do, literally, anything to help Jerry? I don't blame him one bit. You don't treat people that way and expect them to show you respect, of any kind. I wouldn't have either if I were Coach Landry. Hell with Jerry.
